Shipping?

I ship my smaller items (USA/Canada) either by light or small packet. I can't offer tracked packet as the shipping would be more than the cost of the item in some cases.
I have had my shop open for 4 years and this past month I have had one small packet to the USA shipped on Aug 26 to the US and it has not show as yet. Has anyone else had this happen? If the parcel is not delivered will it be returned to me?

I have also had customers mail me asking where there item is within 3 to 4 days of shipping. How do you answer that in a simple way without having to send a very long explanation of how shipping works.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi Grace,
I have an announcement on my policy page, message to buyers section, and I also let them know when I send the items in the shipping confirmation letting buyers know how long it takes for items to arrive.

I have had parcels lost en route to US addresses and less than 10% make it back to me. I also have shipping times posted as visibly as possible within my shop but still do get 'where is my package?' convos.

Like Kerry, I have the info pretty much everywhere, once I did that, it did cut down on the 'where is my item?'... I do get the occasional one but I just cut & paste the info and remind them (nicely) that it's coming from a different country.

I just added the shipping upgrades, I've been a little hesitant since canada post likes to give them unrealistic shipping times (they dont mention that its not guaranteed to get through Customs faster) so we'll see how this goes for the holiday season.
