Pricing Seem Way off with Calculated Shipping

So I did the calculated shipping for three products:

Prority is way overpriced, prior to send one comic via Etsy label from MA, to CA is usual just over $6. I not sure how $14.52 came about. The media mail is also about double Etsy Labels. Express seems OK, though I don't do express that often.

All these item together would weight just under 3lbs so the full package going $27+ seems way out of wack, 3X what is should cost.

Thanks for testing it out! What sizes are you entering for these listings? Are you entering the size of the items, or the size of the box you usually ship them in?

For the single comic, can you double check the item weight you put for it on the listing?

for the comic size of the item, it weight was 3oz it's size was 11" by 8" by 1" (1 being the minimum). Edit, just notice I put in 3lbs, whoops I will have her check it again

Another question, when I package comic, it weight doubles because of the card board used to keep flat, generally once it is full packed and poly envelope, they weigh around 7oz, is that going to be a problem?

Matt, for the weight include the packaging. Unfortunately, when someone buys more than one thing, it over charges a bit because of the extra packaging. Hopefully we'll get a "with another item" weight to fix that issue.

You might want to check out this thread, which has advice from sellers who have been using calculated shipping for awhile on how to fine tune your item sizes and how to also test it out yourself:

For the multiple items that are coming up more expensive than they should for Priority, it might be because of the sizes you're entering for each listing. If the sizes are the size of the box you put each item in (and not the size of the item, or the packed item), we might be calculating them to be more expensive.

You might want to change the sizes to be closer the item size (or the packaged/wrapped item size) and see if it makes the shipping costs more accurate.

Thanks for the advice since my comics are packaged with two thick sheets of card board, they usually weigh 7oz, where unpackaged they weigh 3 - 4oz, I will change their shipping info to reflect that

So the ones I have been experimenting with (the comics and magazine) I add 4oz to the weight of them for packaging and they look a lot better, I am loving calculated shipping so far.
