Great Article Tracey. What I have learned over the years is if I take the leap of starting on a custom order without financial commitment from a buyer is all on me.
And I have in the past done that. I ordered supplies prematurely.
I also know it is important to have on your policies regarding cancellation, refund policies regarding custom order.
I personally also do not just take a deposit, I ask for full amount. Some shops do provide this service.
Would like to hear our team members take on challenges regarding custom orders.
Please make sure we do not talk about a transaction by naming buyers, etc.
