How do you effectively block somebody on Tumblr?

Hi I am new to tumblr. I want to know how to effectively block somebody from my Tumblr Blog?
I have been getting a slew of new followers the past few days. I looked at the blog of one of those followers. What I saw on their blog was upsetting. They had hateful things on their blog that I would not like associated with my store. While I was on my computer I put them on the ignore list. The ignore list I guess blocks them from my blog. They still popped up in my following on my phone. I just sent an email to Tumblr about it.

What should I do?

Ive never had to do that so I dont know how they work.

Thats one thing with tumblr, anything goes as long as you mark the blog R rated.

That's one big problem with tumblr; you can't. You can keep them from seeing your posts on their dashboard (the ignore feature) but people can visit your blog directly and follow you as they please. I've had a similar problem on my personal account and there really is nothing that can be done. For now at least. This has been an issue for years, since tumblr began, and it seems like they just don't want to address it. :/

It seemed from the email that I got that they just brushed me off and I was not pleased with that. I have now decided to move to a wordpress blog and use my tumblr blog for just pictures of my items. I really hope that wordpress will handle themselves more professionally when it comes to this stuff.

I love that wordpress allowed me to upload all my stuff from tumblr, so that I don't have to start over.
