We are on month 2 of our Weekend BNS Bash boards and they are doing well. Last month we filled 21/2 boards and this month it looks like we will fill 2. Not bad for a weekend event.
That being said, I think that having people on a carryover list waiting a month for their feature is too long and is discouraging some sales. So we have decided that we will do this every other weekend. That will shorten the wait on the carryover list. That is also going to change how we will have to run the competition.
I am going to keep the submission boards open for 2 weeks. They will close the weekend before the Bash, to give me time to get everything on the blog and to promote it. This weeks submission thread will still run for one week and close on 8/10. The winner's board will then be on the 8/17 BNS Bash. The board after August week 2 will run for 2 weeks and we will get into the grove of the new schedule then.
Boards will still be built the same way, with 8 spots filled, to allow for 4 carryover spots and 3 spots for active members of the team that will be chosen for work done in that month. And one spot for me for curating.
Winners will still get to be a featured shop on the board and will have 2 spots on the board. They will also have their board posted to the blog with a link to their shop. They will also still receive a shop feature on the team blog. However, there won't be any semi-finalists anymore. Each submission thread will run for 2 weeks and the winner is the winner and the board is put on a BNS Bash.
Hopefully this makes sense and isn't too confusing. I will put all of this on the next submission thread also. This will get us more time on a BNS and hopefully more sales for all involved.
