traffic from amazon?

I always look to see where my traffic is coming from and saw today that I got a view from amazon.com. what? and it was for an item that I sold over a month ago. I also often get views from google but on items that have sold. Can anyone help me understand this? Thanks :)

It would interest me too. I had one from there. Perhaps because I am a regular at amazon ?

I found this on another team:

I guess amazon has a place where people can make wish lists from items that they find anywhere? I'll take it!!! lol

Re: traffic from amazon?

Amanda, it took me a while to learn this, but I always edit and renew a sold item. It is more trouble to do it that way but the number stays on google as sold unless you renew it. By renewing it, the item always has a link that the buyer can go to for an actual item you have for sale rather than something that sold a long time ago. Does that make sense?
Also, I tweet and facebook and pin on pinterest and other people send my items into cyberspace, so eventually all kinds of search engines pick up our items as we network.

Re: traffic from amazon?

So if I sell an item, I can list a new item by relisting the old item but editing everything in it? So you are listing an entirely different item but relisting the sold item to do it? I just want to be sure this is what you are saying.

Re: traffic from amazon?

Yes, I change the item and it keeps the old number. Usually, the item is related to what I sold but not always. It keeps the number of views, too which is why you often see an item listed which starts out with hundreds of views.

Thanks for explaining that. This is very helpful. I wondered about all those views too.

Re: traffic from amazon?

As far as the views from sites like Amazon... if people have a tab open with Amazon, and then open a new tab for etsy it will register Amazon as the referring website.

Amanda,

My friends & I use Elfster for gift exchanges. And you can make wish lists on it.
