Wish I could help you - I have a similar problem! I've been following a few people who are getting 8-10 sales a day and hundreds of views! Wish I could figure it out. Your items are beautiful - hope you get some sales :)

Re: need help with search engines

Thank you Wendy, Sigita for your post to my question. Was hoping to get more feedback but I guest that is slower than getting views on Etsy :-)
I will figure it out.

Re: need help with search engines

Search engines like repetition. Try and use the same words in your description as the title of your item.
Then your first few tags, the exact same words.
Say if you are listing a Big Grey Elephant, your description should start like, This big grey elephant...
Then your first tags should be, big, grey, elephant, big grey, etc
(Just examples)
Hope this helps

I, too, am in the same boat - no views, thus no sales. Thanks, Kim, for your advice.

Re: need help with search engines

Also, make your item title what you think someone might type in to search.
Think as a buyer. If you want a bracelet or a shirt or boots whatever it is, what would the first word you type in search be?

And remember, that's what Google will pick up. So if you use an adjective, such as extra or blue or great, that will be what gets tagged. But most people wont use that as a first word to search. some will, yes.

Re: need help with search engines

Margaux,
You really should put the sterling silver in your title. It should be the first word
Also, on one of your tags you have jewelry twice, you capitalized one of them.
Switch your titles around a bit. Etsy is a site for handmade items, and your items are listed under handmade. So it isn't really necessary to use handmade as your first item title.
You have some really nice items and there is no reason you aren't making sales.
If you have for example, sterling silver earrings, your title should be
Sterling silver earrings adorned with.....and then add a little more description.

This goes for everyone in their titles.
Be careful of redundancy. Google doesn't like the same word repeated 1 million times. You can, but not carbon copies. You have to switch it around a bit.

Your first couple of words in your title will be what gets the search engine.

Any questions? :)
Good luck!

Re: need help with search engines

Margaux-

How about trying a title like this:

" Long Dangle Earrings, Copper Chain Beaded Earrings"

or this:

"beaded charm bracelet, gemstone jewelry"

Try thinking in phrases not sentences and using 2 phrases in your title. 8-11 words for best SEO.
