Low views - can't seem to handle to SEO!

Hi everybody!

I very recently started up my shop and have put a lot of time and effort into perfecting it - but still low views and most sad of all, no sales.
I'm constantly working at putting more items in there and i've tried really hard with my tags but so far no bites!

Please help!
Feel free to critique my shop!

Jenny xx

What are you doing to bring people to your shop?

Etsy provides you with the store front but its up to you to bring in the buyers.

I would however suggest that you update your shop announcement so that it reflects what you sell.

When I look at the way your shop is represented on Google it comes up as
""In times like these everybody needs a discount!""

Jocelyn - I believe Crochet Gal is referring to the first line in her shop announcement, which shows up under your shop name when you Google yourself and show up.

crochetgal, when I put mine into Google I don't come up with Etsy at all. I thought you had to be syndicated to come up on Google and that you could only be syndicated when you have over 5 sales ??

sorry jennifer i don't mean to hijack your thread I'm just very curious about this.

Ah, I put my name in and it works very lovely. I am happy with what it says on all my little sites.

As for OP, get your name out there on other websites as well. The more good content you have that points back to your shop the better your shop will come up on search engines.

Posting items on sites like EtsyLush helps with SEO, and doesn't cost anything but your time. (But EtsyLush only allows one item per day, unless you pay to be featured in their gift guides.)

Just keep at it...our views go up and down ALL the time. I have yet to figure out what causes the rollercoaster of views, even with using shop stats and Google Analytics.

You are confusing Google http://www.google.com/ with Google Shopping http://www.google.com/shopping?hl=en&tab=wf

Anything on the internet will appear in Google once the Google bots have crawled your shop.

However, Google Shopping is solely for products that are for sale and to appear there, your shop must be syndicated.

If you do a search for your shop name "LittleCottonShop" (all one word) you are there.

Re: Low views - can't seem to handle to SEO!

If all you are doing is adding items to your shop but not doing any marketing, then its probably not likely that your views will increase dramatically.

Etsy provides you with the store front, but its up to you to do your own marketing.

Some great ways to get your name 'out there' are to blog or increase your presence on Facebook. But remember that it takes time for a good marketing plan to take effect. You probably won't see results overnight but gradually over time.
