Holiday Sales

Hello everyone,

I opened my shop in Sept,2012 so I have not been through a etsy Christmas season. Have any other shop owner's done a Christmas season and if so how was the sales.

I read that right now is the calm before the storm and it is a good time to stock up your shops and get ready.

Can I get some insight from fellow owners that have been through it.

I opened 11/11 last season and had not done my homework on SEO's etc. As the last few months have been an awakening for me and have been learning from posts etc, I anticipate a busier season than last.

Looking forward to sales, but have not figured out what to expect. can anyone?

I hadn't heard that it was the calm before the storm but if that it true I am happy to hear it. This will be my first holiday season in a while that I am offering items that can be gifted or used as decoration (previously I sold custom graphic design sets) and I am excited to learn as much as I can about the upcoming season.

I think we all need SEO help now with the browse feature. Views are way down for me. I have grown each holiday season (since 2009) here on Etsy. The admin always seems to make a NEW and improved change (according to them) prior to the holidays. I've weathered each storm before, and like to think that I can weather this one. But, somehow I'm thinking I"ll have a less than stellar season here on Etsy. Good thing I have my "beads" in more than one basket! (so to speak).

I went in and changed some of my keywords to reflect the holiday season, such as some of my smaller items I keyword Stocking Stuffer and my other items Keyword Christmas Gift, Holiday Decoration etc.

Like I said I have a lot of views and favorites so we will see. I am trying to get my items out their.

Hope we all have tons of sales. Mine are starting to pick up and I usually do well this time of year thru May.
