Each day, I or a guest poster will aim to post one teeny tip you can do to improve your SEO or Page Rank. I'm hoping this will become a great resource for new members to the team :-)
The original leader of the group was unable to continue with this. There is a search for a new leader who is highly familiar with SEO and hopefully someone will step up to take that leader roll soon. There is another related post about searching for a leader.
Myself and others try to pass along whatever hints we can from other reading and post them here. This helps us all to gain a better understanding of SEO. When you see something that adds to what is here, please share.
I just joined this team a few days ago and came across this fantastic thread today! I've implemented a couple of the tips so far but have loads and loads to catch up with! I don't know anything about SEO so this is very helpful!
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I wanted to point out that you can add your own Etsy shop to Bing. I did that a few days ago and my views have really jumped up. Just follow this link and click Submit a Site.
I think it is the perfect place. I added my shop URL to "bing". Hopefully your jump in views will also increase your sales. Lots of looks is good but lots of purchases are better! Thanks for the tip.
There is a new Team Captain as of today and another leader! Welcome to all. Let's share what we learn so we all can make some forward motion in SEO.
Yesterday I was looking at my Google Analytics data and saw that I have gone from 30 % of my traffice coming from search engines to 53.44% coming from search engines this month. I think I am doing more things right.
I haven't read the whole thread, I followed it when it originally started.. and so just to keep it going I'd like to share a little tip. Some of you may be already familiar with this, I was, but some time after the 10th listing I forgot about it again and now I have a lot of rewriting to do..
So just in case you are like me and keep forgetting:
Your listing title should contain a good keyword or two that describe the item (eg. antique teacup) and also the color/style/type of the item. All of these words should be repeated several times in your description. It doesn't have to be the exact copy of your title, but in your first line of your description try to include all of the keywords in the same sequence, if possible. Throughout your description, repeat those keywords several times.
2.1 Web page layout factors relevant to seo 2.1.1 Amount of text on a page A page consisting of just a few sentences is less likely to get to the top of a search engine list. Search engines favor sites that have a high information content. Generally, you should try to increase the text content of your site in the interest of seo. The optimum page size is 500-3000 words (or 2000 to 20,000 characters).
