WELCOME!

If this is your first time visiting, please post in this thread to say Hello! =).

My name is Megan, I mostly like natural gemstones and glass beads, but I have TONS of this and that... I can't resist buying shiny things. ;).

Please, when setting up trades for this group, set it up properly through Etsy listings in your store. Not only will this allow your feedback to grow, it will also insure that Etsy is paid properly for their fees, and that they will continue to encourage and allow trading.

Have fun looking and trading for some new beads!

Re: WELCOME!

Hello! My name is Sarah and I also love natural stone beads, but I will use any kind of material, including the dreaded plastic (I tend to use plastic beads alone tho..I don't like to mix them with others). I have so many beads that I don't know what to do with them all, (I have a small chest of drawers full of beads, and two boxes of extra beads in my closet) so this place is perfect..hopefully I'll make a lot of trades here :)

Re: WELCOME!

I m here! I adore beads of almost all sorts..

I did just recently acquire tons of big honking electro plated ( plastic? aluminum) beads but I do mostly natural chunky stones.

I have lots of glass pearls, lil stashes of bead strands from leftover pieces like jades, peridots, amethysts, pearls, glass pearls and tiger eyes, bronzites, picasso jasper, sea glass and other doo dads. hehe

I obviously have lots of metals too. So We should have fun!

Many of my bead pics go up in albums in Picasa, So I think I will do those in a trades album, people can take a look and I ll make a trade listing.

But first, the holidays! Family and Love !
Peace to all.
Cindy

Re: WELCOME!

Hey Cindy- When you have time, can you post a link to your picasa albums? I'm not so good at fereting this stuff out for myself, more of a "click the links" kinda gal. ;). I'm definitely interested to see your amethysts, and jasper, and sea glass, and...

Um, I want to see it all. =).

Re: WELCOME!

I'm posting & running, crazy time is here!

I have tons of new stuff, because, well, they were pretty and on sale!
I have a pretty good stash of vintage too. Three big shoe boxes full of jewelry from a friends' great aunt's attic. (Love it when people gift me their "old stuff no one wants"!)

Oohhh, I love old stuff no one wants too!

Right now I've been in a "glass/stone flower beads with a hole in the center of the petals" type phase, and have a bit of $$$'s burning a hole in my paypal... so if anyone's got any suggestions... =)

Re: WELCOME!

Hi - I use natural stones, pearls and glass. I'll occasionally buy some vintage lucite or acrylic beads if they're really great.

My destash situation is that since I make rosaries I need a certain number of beads. So I'm left with lots of groups of beads that I can't really use (you can only make/sell so many one-decade rosaries). On the flip side, that means that in trades or buying I'll mostly be interested in whole sets of beads.

I have some destash listed in my shop now, including two full sets of glass crackle beads which I've decided not to use. Since they're already for sale in my shop, I'll probably list them in the "trading" thread here.

Re: WELCOME!

Hello. I mostly sell vintage, but I make jewelry on the side and now have a large lot of beads and charms I would love to trade for other goodies instead of buying.

Re: WELCOME!

Hello my name is Laura & right now I'm trying to make a decision----Either just lower the amount of beads & supplies I have & continue to make jewelry or to just get rid of it ALL & try more artsy/craftsy things!!!

I need to at least start taking pictures!! But living in M you don't get to many bright, warm, sunny days!! So as of now it looks like Sunday will be the best day to be able to get some pics taken!! Right now the beads I'm looking to get rid of are mostly small beads---I really can't work with the small beads!! I should've have never even bought them in the first place, but back then I just wanted any & ALL beads!! (As I can't see all that well (and the way my house sits, we don't get much sunlight in) & my hands are sooooo shaky!!) I wasn't even considering what I could actually work with!! I do have some medium & large beads---as I've got to many of the same kind!! I will also be looking to get rid of charms & pendants!!

So as soon as I'm able to take photos of my jewelry supplies, I will & I'll let you all know I've got it listed or where you can view them!!

I'm looking forward to learning a lot about you other members in this group!!

Thanks

Laura

Re: WELCOME!

Hello! My name's Artie and I opened my destash shop to get rid of excess beads and things that I had bought a few years back. I wasn't sure of my jewelry style back then, so now I have a ton of leftovers. Glad to be here! :^)

Re: WELCOME!

Hi! Sasha here. in addition to my jewelry shop, I also have a destash shop (Crows Cache Supplies) so you can see what I have there (well, what I have posted so far anyway) I am posting a LOT more types of made-by-me designer headpins today and this week.

I am looking for:
1) handmade clay/ceramic beads & caps and pods
2) same in glass and earthy polymer
3) millagros (spelling!)
4) raw rough gemstone beads
5) old rustic glass

and maybe other things. you know how it is, often you don't know that you want something until you see it and then you MUST have it and cannot live without it.

But I can pretty much assure you that I am not at all interested in plastic or base metal findings.

Niice to meet you all!

Re: WELCOME!

Hi,
My name is Amanda. I have a shop named lilFlowerChild. I love love natural gemstones and everything about them. I mostly sell jewelry (bono/hippie) but I just got into making hippie feather & gemstone headbands and I actually am just about to post the home decor section. I love making custom orders, Its encouraging to know that someone is putting faith in you to make an item that is special to them.
I only use gemstones to make my pieces because I believe they all have a purpose and can help people mentally and physically. I just cant help but think how they are all mysterious in there own ways and I love that the most about gemstones.
I have not yet made a destash shop yet but I will have one by tonight. I will post the name then. I have natural stones, natural beads, man made beads and findings to destash.
* Right now, like as soon as possible I am looking for 3mm to 5mm light blue aquamarine beads for my best friends wedding jewelry.
* I am always looking for any natural gemstones raw and pollished gemstone beads. I am always looking to expand my private collection as well as my collection I use to make my work.
Thank you so much for reading and welcoming me into the team.
This is my Facebook page url.

Can anyone help me change my url to something more simple please. I have never changed it before and I have more then 25 likes, I know those are the two things that matter. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Amanda

Re: WELCOME!

Found this shop and discovered it's probably the best way for me to figure out how to do a bulk destash!

Just posted on the main etsy discussion board, here's my story: https://www.etsy.com/teams/7718/questions/discuss/16495187/page/1

I'm a beader, and I'm a more than a little addicted to buying beads. I have been buying more beads than I can possibly use up, so I've listed a bunch to destash.

Recently, I realized that I have SO much more I should destash. All of these beads and unfinished projects are really a psychic drain. I love beads and making jewelry, but the sheer number of high quality beads that are "wasted" by sitting in bags in drawers makes me feel like I'm letting down the beads.

(I know that sounds goofy, but probably the hardcore beaders know what I'm talking about.)

I'm extremely fortunate that I have well-paying day job. Right now it's more important to me that the beads go to a good home than I recoup any costs--I'd rather support bead artists who are doing this for a living. I don't have a lot of free time however, due to the day job :)

What's the most efficient way for me to do this? Do I post a bunch of photos of different things to destash, then start conversations to have people pick and choose what they will use?

(Can you tell I'm a perfectionist? I re-read this and I'm clearly obsessing way too much!)

Re: WELCOME!

Hi, I've been making sterling silver jewellery for a couple of years now. My style is changing now and I no longer buy good quality glass beads or gemstones. I'm gradually listing my destash things in my etsy shop. I would love to do trades as well. I have Czech beads, porcelain beads, gemstone beads, pendants. I even have piles of base metal findings, shell beads, charms!
Basically I'm an shameless beader!
