At first I was pissed, but now I'm fine. It was taking up to much time being in the forums anyways. I did really enjoy helping people and I was nice, that is when I wasn't being sarcastic and mean, and anything can be considered sarcastic and mean in etsys eyes, lol.
I was surprised when I couldn't post, thought they had closed the thread. Then I saw that I didn't have permission to post. Checked my emails and there was the letter. The thread which was the reason I got banned, has over 50 post removals, and some of the post that are still up are worse then what I said, IMO. I wonder who else got muted from posting from that thread?
Probably a lot of people, more than you think. I think the forums are an overall inconvenience for etsy, it doesn't actually generate any money, so they flourish the permament ban sword enthusiastically.
I liked the forums they use to have. When they had the business topic. I learned a lot from that forum. Wish they still had it. The forums now are such a mix.
I too have got used to not being able to participate in the forums. I still go and read things, just don't post. But it really galls me to see that stupid grey bar reminding me each and every time that I am no longer one of the "privileged people"...I get it already!
oh yeah, that's what it says but what it means I think is something else. I'm not (in etsys eyes) hip enough and subservient enough to 'participate'. Thank goodness I don't basemy self worth on what they think. Hell no, I won't eat the cupcake!
I don't know if I'm banned or not. Posts are vanishing and my screen is flickering. Either way, I'd be happier out of the censorship zone even if I do only have a glitch.
Hi All, I would like to say that I have said a lot in the forums but that wouldn't be true, I rarely go in, I don't say anything about resellers and to be honest I was very surprised when I got a weeks ban for the thing that I said and now I feel like I am treading on egg shells every time I speak!

They are now preventing us from accessing services we pay for by changing the appearance, yet again. This latest change has changed how we can organize our shop. We have no freedom now. We listed items when the site was one way, then they pull the rug out from under us after getting our money. I am not banned from the forums, but I refuse to relist anything on this site. I have been for awhile now, taking my sales back to ebay.
I was muted for responding to a thread where the OP was complaining that another seller was copying them. The thing is they were selling copyright/ trademark infringing items.
I said "what is the saying about the pot and the kettle?"
Wow.. nice to know they protect the violators and mute those that DON'T break the law.
I haven't been banned from the forums, but i've been warned about things i have said before. I'm guessing that some other member reported my post. But i've fought with Etsy about a few of the reported posts and told my side of the story and even received an apology. I don't believe in denying our basic right to free speech. If we don't stop there, what else will be taken from us? Everyone is entitled to an opinion. And i have to laugh at some of the replies to the posts here. Good for you for saying what's on your mind!
I see the Etsy Gestapo is still going strong! God forbid we respond to any of the idiotic drivel in the forums with witty rejoinders. What kind of terrible place would this world be if all of the morons were held accountable for their idiocy? Who knew tyranny could exist in such a place? Yes, I do worry that my complaints in team forums will get me in trouble. They have gone and done another 'test" using my shop. I had just listed a bunch of destash yarn, that I don't want on my front page, yet NOW I can not rearrange. I did fill out their questionnaire.
There is a lady who trolls me in the forums and flags all my comments. I got banned for a week then let back in. She flagged me again today so I'll likely get banned permanently.
