Speaking hypothetically, I mentioned a front page shop was creating something using copyrighted material.

It was during that whole "coralgate" explosion, when all the worst of the muting was happening- You could not say anything slightly offensive for a time there. Many friends were perm muted, and I would love for them to rejoin the forums, or what is left of them...

I got in trouble for saying that half of a thread would be gone if the brown nosers or brown nosing were removed. And then muted for mentioning that the lit up V D letters on the front page were disturbing me. This thread is public you know.

Well, not really. I've been muted for a couple of weeks - no telling how much longer, so I figure, hey - why not have an 'island for lost toys', but with people banned from the forums.

I got this long-term/indefinite ban - after the mention of 'unlicensed disney property' and 'etsy front page'.

After the ban, I spoke with a friend who works at Disney - can't say what will happen, but they are pretty strict when it comes to their property.

I was banned for suggesting that resellers have an upper hand here because they enforce slave labor. Apparently I said something else offensive that pissed off the circle dancers and rain children that run this joint.

It's a shame too, I am convinced the only sales activity I received was because of my participation in the forums.

I spoke the truth about a reseller in a thread. They were carrying on about a bad review because of a ring they sent that was the wrong size. I suggested that they order another ring from their wholesale supplier. I wasn't being rude, or disparaging, just matter of fact speaking the truth.
But Etsy doesn't like the truth when it concerns their beloved resellers that try to pretend they handcraft their junk.

I am glad you all have a voice here. I am willing to post up in the main forums, but pretty much said my goodbyes there. My shop is technically open for the time being for custom orders from my repeat customers I didn't want to abandon.

I hope they really do find a way for handmade and vintage to remain visible.. I just cant see how it is possible. I do think supplies will be okay for awhile.. but what is keeping supply factories from adding shops here too?

I saw a factory owner in the forums a year or so ago saying they got a business license in Utah, and had an address there. Was that enough to allow them to say the shop was in the U.S., and could they still drop ship from China without getting into trouble. That thread was shut down quickly. not closed... but disappeared altogether

Oh, nevermind. I just found it.

I was banned from the forums when I spoke out during Etsy's policy changes this summer. There was an admin censoring posts left and right and I responded by saying, "You have been censored. Seig heil." Etsy staff viewed this as a "serious offense." I was also cited as being "sarcastic and mean." *eye roll*

I believe that's the time period many people were censored, just before the big announcement. I think they were hoping to minimize the negative reaction.

I believe they are going to have some sort of appeal process, but frankly, preventing people from access to services, yet still taking their money for fees seems a bit wrong.

I haven't been banned - yet. I have gotten several warnings in the last few weeks and expect to be banned at some point. So, thanks for the invitation! I'm being pro-active here...

I haven't been banned yet and have no idea about warnings as I never read my email. I just delete when there's 2 or 3 hundred, saves time that way. Thanks for the invite. If anyone needs to post a question or report a bug convo me and I will be happy to do it.
