I'm going to start by asking about feedback - what's your sales- feedback ratio ? And how do you ( or don't you ?) subtly ask for feedback ?

The ratio seems to be pretty lame. I leave it for every order I get or make, as I'm sure most of the shop owners on Etsy do.
I do have a spiel in my thank you for ordering note, about feedback. "I look forward in hearing any feedback. . ."

But often, people just aren't interested, especially those who aren't going to come back much. I do get letters back. Those are much better, but not a countable stat on Etsy.

I sure would like to see a feature, where (in part), we can link to this, or quote it. I do ask the customer for permission when they send pix, then attach it to my feed back for appreciation photos, but someone would have to know to look at the feedback I give, in order to see it.

I'd love to hear what you all have to say on this, maybe we can "break the code" here?

Feedback's quite low, about 1 in 3. That's partly because, for me, most of my sales are not to other Etsy sellers but to outsiders, who don't frequent Etsy as much.

I've found, after many years on Etsy, that the only stat or ratio that matters is # and $ of sales ... !

Everything else is a poor predictor.

Can the customer leave a feedback before the ship date if they get the order earlier?

As a buyer , I'd definately be checking out the feedback, especially with a relatively new shop . Apart from the photos ( which don't always tell the whole story ) , it's all you have to go with .

I have a question about discounts , more specifically - if I wanted to offer free domestic Shipping , how could I go about this ? Say I wanted to have the normal postage profile for an item but if you entered a code , would void the postage for items within the same country - is this possible?

As far as I know, you can't do that via a coupon as yet, with Etsy. It's a great feature with say your own web site though. You'd have to x out the postage listing for your country.
I have heard rumor that, that is on the table, as a future option though, but haven't seen anything about it as yet.

I have a question if anyone out there can help .
I know the listings have ' variations ' - but is it possible to have a different price option for each one ? Cheers - cap'n silver ball

Great question, Cap'n'. You can have a different price for each variation of an item. I have that on many of my labels. From a basic paper label, to one that is printed on cloth, an all of the ones in between.

Shipping, is the PITA, because if it weighs more than the other, it'll ship at the one price.
Kind of your call on that, sort of thing.
