Sheri, have you noticed that if you post something negative about Etsy in the forums, there's always somebody coming along trying to calm you down? I think they may pay some people to do that. JMHO.

Turns out tomorrow I'm going to run (walk) a 2 mile family walk with my grandson. My niece was going to but had an emergency. I know it's not far but for the shape I'm in its a big deal. My daughter is a runner and had it planned just to do a 6 miles run. Porter was already registered for the family so I'm in. Maybe this will get me on the road to getting myself healthy......

Hello everyone. . .just checking in. . . . you are a busy lot . . .has tken me 30 minutes to read the past news. . . .been very busy with personal matters around here. would love to join but alas it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for postal items to arrive in South Africa from US (or anywhere for that matter). I liked the idea of us al painting from one photograph. I recently went to an exhibition of 4 artists with very different styles. They each chose a photograph and all 4 of them did each of these 4 photographs - such different interpretations . . . it was fantastic. Rachel thanks for being my first and only Like on my AfricanGranny Facebook page. I am battling to post to my page as everything I post lands up on my personal page. Im sure Ill get it right one day. Donna - start your exercise regime slowly. I recently (at the age of 60) started tennis again after a break of about 15 years. I pulled muscles I didnt even know existed and am still playing like an absolute idiot but loving getting the old ticker going again. Paintin with friends tomorrow ( a good idea as it is a commitment that we have once a week). You are all invited . . . copious amounts of tea and coffee all morning.

Good evening all. It is very late but I have a minute online.
Anxious to get home and join in on a challenge. My mama has beautiful rose buds in her yard. Maybe we could consider doing a single rose bud. Would like to see how different the paintings would turn out by different artists. Just an idea. I'll take photo just in case it peaks anyone's interest.
I miss painting and home......I'm such a homebody.

How did your walk go DonnaRose? I do a lot of running and love the health benefits. Check out My Fitness Pal (you can google it)... it's a great site to help you keep track of what you eat and your exercise.

I like the idea of a single rosebud, DonnaRose... I've never painted a single flower and think it'd be fun to see everyone's interpretations :)

Good morning. I think it was about 2 am when I wrote last night. Was suppose to get up at 7:30 to get my mama to Doctor apptmts. Well alarm went off at 6:30. Mama set it wrong. Oh well I have time to say good morning. My daughter goes to the airport this around noon to fly home. So I internet through her fancy phone. Rachael glad you like the flower idea. We'll see what the others think. Beautiful weather here in calif. Cold in Montana and probably colder when I get home Sunday. Sorry I'm just rattling on, miss being involve with art. Rachel the walk went well. My brother in law is one of the rangers at mt. Diablo. He told my daughter, LiElla, that he didn't want to tell me how steep part of the walk was. Mt. Diablo is made up of high hills and we went to the top of one....but it was good . I got a little winded on some of the steep part. But all in all I did ok and really enjoyed it.

Donnarose ~ Love the idea of a rose challenge. Kismit, I attempted one single peony for old time sake and was really disappointed. My rose painting will definitely be called "by another name". Ho-ho-ho!

Was it Nora's story about being called upon all the time to do artwork on a deadline for a teacher's vocab.? Just like the neighborhood finds out you know how to fix plumbing.

SK ~~~~~~~~~~I believe the discussion was a healthy vent of a breather for most. It is an exchange of experiences. And yes SK I have realized the simplest remark it is either deleted or someone has to come in with a "better than thou" attitude. I believe it is a Brit term "TootY Nosed" or another "UpStart"?

Donnarose sorry you lost your long reply .....it happens. And usually like that one painting moment when it all came together and you want to recapture the essence again and its just gone. Right!?
