Here is the animal charity that is closest to my heart and the link so that you can get to know them too. Pay close attention to the donations needed-- you may be able to help them out as well.

SAGA is the Humane Society in San Pedro, Belize. Being a very poor nation and having no animal control resources; the preferred method of eradicating strays here is strychnine poisoning neighborhood dogs. Until SAGA stepped in and began spay and neuter programs to prevent over population. Our donations now go to support these programs. sagahumanesociety.org/ CHECK out Project SNIP!!

Our family donates to this charity throughout the year for special projects. We also request donations as gifts on birthdays and Christmas. Streetbumvintage donates 25% of profits to this charity as well as our sister shop PatchHappyPauper.Etsy.com. We also take physical donations from the States to Belize once a year and give them to the shelter there. The airline fees are tough, but thanks to the Post Office--shipping them is even tougher.

Here is SAGA's wish list. You can send donations directly to them or to me and I will make it part of a large shipment. We also go down once a year and hand deliver items that are too heavy or inappropriate for mailing through USPS.

My shops first purpose is to raise money for my pet fee for my cat that I rescued and would like to continue to keep that way and it's second is donate all remaining proceeds from the first month to a local animal shelter and to keep having extra money to give to a good cause like the local shelter or buy them food or needed supplies.

Our shop gives $1.00 for each of our single neck ties that are sold to Castaway Citters here in Central Pa. In January of this year, they received $100.00 from our shop. This is a rescue that is very near and dear to our hearts.

Caela, as always, does her own thing. She is working with foster programs in the area to help train dogs in basic obedience classes to help them become more adoptable.

I work full time [when I'm not painting] at a veterinary hospital. I recently adopted a very large american bulldog from a local rescue after losing my last adopted [and deaf] bulldog/pitbull to cancer. 10% of the sales of my pet paintings, prints and pet items go to 2 local rescues [the rescues I've adopted my last 2 dogs from]. I also volunteer with the dog rescues whom I'm adopted my dogs from - I do anything from donate money and items, to walk dogs and transport dogs from pounds to shelters. Soon I hope to begin fostering other bully breeds for the rescues until their forever homes can be found.

I've been donating to local animal shelters since I was in middle school. Since I'm in college now, I don't have much money or a lot of time to help so I'm glad to say that I've opened my store to continue to help animal shelters as best I can. Hopefully by next year I'll have my life reorganized so that I can start becoming a foster mommy for pets.
My shop doesn't donate money, but instead uses the money I make to buy wishlist items that animal shelters have. The rest of it goes back into the shop to buy materials.

The recipients of my donations changes each month or so. I get emails weekly asking for donations - each request is given serious consideration. I wish I could do more -

We all know that since the economic down turn that animal shelters, rescues, and pet adoption groups have lost funding for their states and federal agencies due to cut backs.
Horses take a huge commitment financially upon owners. With more horse owners having to deal with loosing their property from the lack of ability to pay their mortgage their animals are suffering.
Despite the fact that it is not as easy to find homes for these types of animals due to the high costs to animal shelters some have stopped excepting horses or there is a high cost to have a horse picked up from animal control.
Most animals when in these situations are in very poor conditions, under fed, not trained, and most need veterinary care.

This isn't exactly a post about HOW we help animals.
My best friend and I recently changed my facebook page into an animal rights and environmental activist page that supplies useful information and wishlist links for sanctuaries.

I donate 5% of my Etsy sales to animal rescue and periodically donate collars to our local shelter to sell for 100% of the proceeds.

I just rescued a racoon from my dog tonight about 9:30 pm eastern. Unfortunately he needed to be put to sleep. I am crying still. Any advice would be welcome. I have been rescueing animals all my life, but sometimes it seems like a curse when the outcome is bad.

I have been an animal rights person since I was out of my fathers house. I am now passing out flyers from PETA about dogs in hot cars and calling the police on people who take their dogs with them in the car when it iis 90 degrees. In Indiana it is illegal to leave your animal in the car alone during any weather.

I foster rats and other small animals for Carolina Pet Rescue (http://www.cpr-nc.org. I've also been vegan for nearly 17 years and all my pets are, and will always be, rescues. :)

10% of my sales go to rescue/advocacy groups, plus there are many 100% donation items scattered through out my shop. I also try to include fun packs with pro-animal info and stickers with my orders.

I used to be able to do a lot more, but my health gets in the way (genetic spine disease), so I do the best I can, even if it's not as much as I used to.

My sales go to buy yarn and pay for the mailing costs. I support a dozen groups every month. I am a crochet addict so this is a good outlet for my work. I am also a member of Etsy for Animals and donate to their monthly charity with sales from one of my items. I have donated blankets to cat rescue groups for years. I use my shop to spread the word to crocheters about donating finished items and a way to use up scrap yarn.

I have four rescue cats and have fed many feral cats in my area. My cats have pet blankets and toys everywhere.

I volunteer in a shelter for cats, also with every sold item, our odd workshop is giving one handmade toy for animals in a shelter. Plus, we are providing one can of cruelty-free food to animals on the streets.

I send finished crochet items to the rescue groups. I do birdnest bowls, cat blankets, cat toys and squirrel nests to fourteen rescue groups every month. My other team Etsy for Animals is sponsoring one of my charities - Wild Baby Rescue - for a fundraiser this month. I use my sales to buy yarn and pay the mailing costs to send the items I make to the charities. I list the chariites I donate to in my descriptions. Please check out my shop and Etsy for Animals.

I have 2 cats and a dog, all rescues. They are very well loved. Because My time is so limited, I donate a porion of all my sales from PAWsome Art to animal charities. PAWsome Art is only a month old on Etsy, so it is still a new business. I have done a couple of fairs, and made donations from my profits from those sale. Hopefully I will grow this business on Etsy, and be able to donate more and more. That is my hope and dream.

I have two cats and both were on death's door when my better half found them on the streets. I donate to local animal shelters. Also when we go on holidays, we try to visit animal sanctuaries, as the entry fees generally go back into caring for the animals. I hope to grow my Etsy shop to a point where I could become a sponsor for an animal welfare organisation.

Each month I donate 10% of my sales to a local animal organization doing great work in NYC. I also volunteer, and have two rescue kitties. See pix on left to see one of them :)
