Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

I'm thinking of either trying Search Ads or Showcase. Have any of you tried either one? Did they meet or exceed your expectations, and have you sold more items as a result?

Re: Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

I tried search ads for a week, it did not work for me. It only brought 5 people to my shop or listing in a week, No sales. Of course this was my luck and you may find it to be more helpful. Since I was giving it a first try I only did $1 which gives maximum 1000 impressions so this may be why I didnt have as great of luck either.

I hope this helps and didn't discourage you too much! Good Luck!

I tried a couple of weeks at $5.00 per week. Almost nothing, so I am going to hold off and might try again later

Re: Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

I've been doing search ads for the past week at $5 per week. Lots of "impressions" (~500 per day), a few actual "views" (single digits), zero sales. Zero sales in general. I'm beginning to think this site is a waste of time & money. There're tons of sellers, but where are the buyers?

I've tried both a number of times and both were pretty much a waste of time. I do better refining my titles and tags and relisting.

I also found them to be a waste of time and money. Early on I did a lot of the showcase ones....almost no return. I did the search ads for a couple of weeks...I didn't notice any significant increase in views and no sales. Many of my buyers come from other places...FB, Blog, Friends, existing collectors. I just use Etsy to be a point of sale most times.

Re: Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

I just went through my first week of using Ad words with a $7 maximum, and with a little bit of personal FB postings and Tweets, my numbers have considerably jumped in views and Favs .. the ad words daily stats do show a positive increase for me, especially on the days I dont do the extra step of personally promoting myself.

Re: Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

I have spent $10 each month for the last 3 months. I see a jump in my views, but no spike in sales. That could just be my product. It's a shotgun approach to marketing, you hit a large population, but many are not interested once they take a look. However, as far as advertising goes, it is pretty cheap. With most shops, one sale would pay for the week-long Search. I think it is a decent value and will keep one Search a month in my marketing budget as part of a larger mix of efforts.

Re: Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

to me Search Ads never worked all that much. i'm pretty new here so i do not have a deep knowledge of it, but it seems a very weak way to get views.

Re: Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

I tried the search ads, found a spike in views, but no sales. I chatted to an experienced etsy seller and she suggested joining teams and promoting each other...so that's my next marketing strategy...also i was told that 'renewing' your items in your shop frequently helps keep eyes on them, so i've been doing that and i've noticed a spike in views...you can renew 5 items and it's only a dollar. as advertising dollars go that's cheap. However I havent' been at this long, no sales to report yet. I think we have to look at the bigger picture...plan to do one thing on etsy each day to promote, and hopefully in the long run it will pay off. nothing really to lose but my time...and i'm setting a clock on that.

Re: Have you tried Search Ads and Showcase? Was it worth it?

I've tried Search ads several times. Each time, it usually brings about 30 additional views per week but I haven't had any sales from it. Good luck!
