Canada Post/Shipping

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for shipping. Canada Post has recently changed their rates, and we're finding it super frustrating that it costs more to ship within Canada than it does to ship to the USA using Canada Post.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried printing your post label with Paypal? Sometimes it is cheaper than with Canada Post... but not on everything.

I have a venture one card I find it saves on shipping and you get expedited prices for the regular parcel prices. I always find that the Canada post website prices are always higher then what I pay at the post office

I have found this to be the same problem for me as well. Even shipping over seas is cheaper then shipping with-in my own province.
I talked to the mail people and they told me that sometimes the shipping rates are like this because of the postal code and how much "easy access" it is to get it shipped to that location. It doesn't make much sense to me because shipping two hours away from where I am is cheaper then sending a product to England.
Honestly, I think it's very hard to set a standard shipping rate for Canadian buyers. I do agree though, it's extremely frustrating!

I understand that Tara, I have shipped something to someone in the same city as me and it cost just as much as shipping something overseas. I was once told by the postal service that it costs more to ship things further away. But most of the time it is in fact cheaper to ship overseas or the same prices as to ship within the same province. I found though this also depends on size, if something is really big it does cost a lot more to ship over seas.

Yes I guess it is... its weird that it is that way, and I sure don't get it.
