The David Austin rose catalogue came in today. Arrrrgh- its addicting- all these beautiful roses and a limited budget. I don't even know if they ship here but I sent an email to ask. The Canadian sources are not as complete as the catalogue.
I have some new lamp designs- much bigger ones in progress and I am working on cups, plates & bowls. Also I have some lights in the Citizens of Craft exhibit at the ACC Gallery in Edmonton.
Threw my back out a few days ago rearranging the interior of the kiln. Took it easy and it felt better then I lifted heavy stuff this morning and it's out again......

Happy new year, everyone!! Hope you've been having a productive beginning to 2017. My sales have picked up slightly but just heard that one package marked "delivered" was not actually delivered by USPS so have to eat that cost.

Happy Tuesday! It is Tuesday, right? The days have been busy so far this month, I'm getting spun around a bit.
Etsy sales for me have been "just enough" and manageable this month. Just starting to receive some custom orders, which are always fun to work on. Trying to get caught up on paperwork, bookkeeping and business tasks before diving into too much new product making.

Thanks for the heads up, Cindy!
I very rarely have sales in my Etsy shop, but I put several older Love Catchers designs on sale. Would love to see them off to new homes! Sharing here, just in case any of you are in need of baby shower gifts. Use the coupon code: LOCALDELIVERY to remove shipping charges if you'd prefer to swing by my house in Calgary to pick up your order :-)

Look at this page, it has links to diff branches of government sales for surplus items. I followed a federal government link to sales of a crate of q-tips! Crazy stuff but maybe useful to someone. I am searching for pottery equipment- like kilns.

Terri, thanks for the link! It is odd, fascinating, and just so interesting to look through!
I saw a listing for an Udderly Art cow- 900 lbs with base, for $1700. Wonder how my neighbors would feel about it...
Baaahahahahah!

Maybe the cow and I could travel and we could take pictures in various places too. Like the traveling gnome, but much more Albertan.
A little Instagram vacation, me and my cement bovine companion.

Christine, you might be on to something. We could find a team mascot, the cow is probably way too big, but something smaller we could send around and take pictures of with our products with its own tag. We could send or pass it around to different team members??

Oh my- that would be awesome. Our Etsy YYC cow! Appearing on Instagram and twitter feeds everywhere!
The udderly art cow is definitely too big- it weighs something like a zillion pounds (accurate measurement I am sure) and needs a large truck.
I am now going to spend the evening looking for just the right stuffie pattern for a cow.

The traveling cow sounds like fun!
I don't feel like I am making progress in my shop. It's been a rough year and I'm just not there in the head space yet to get things moving again. One problem I have discovered is I can't find replacements for some of my bigger sellers. That's frustrating to say the least. But I will keep searching.
I'm starting to get a little nervous about the procedures I will have to go through in order for the real surgery happens. I have no idea yet when the real one happens, but it's been in my head for a couple of weeks. I talked with a pharmacist and her brother has the same problem and has had since he was a kid. Mine started in my early 20's. But having the balloons inserted to stretch the esophagus is quite painful and he has to repeat it every two or three years! Yikes.
I will calm down and come to the conclusion it's necessary but I don't like the word pain!! LOL

Re: ♦♦♦♦ Alberta Street Team CHAT THREAD for JANUARY 1 - 31, 2017 ♦♦♦♦
Norma,
I hope everything goes ok. I understand the nerves about having procedures and tests and surgeries- deep breath. I wish I had some magic trick that would help.
I came to the realization last night that it is unlikely that I will find- and be able to make a cow to my satisfaction. Ha! NOT my strong suit. I am going to go poke around today and see what intriguing things come up.
Any suggestions or votes on a mascot?
