Anyone interested in sharing a bulk order of bags for shows? I don't need 500 but I'd like at least 100. I'm looking at these https://www.uline.ca/Product/Detail/S-13157/Shopping-Bags-Plastic/Die-Cut-Handle-Bags-12-x-15-Assort...

Half order (250) would be $36
1/5 order (100) would be $14.40

Message me if you are interested! Thanks!

Look at this page, it has links to diff branches of government sales for surplus items. I followed a federal government link to sales of a crate of q-tips! Crazy stuff but maybe useful to someone. I am searching for pottery equipment- like kilns.

Happy New Year 2017! Sorry I was late changing the threads; our family has been dealing with the flu and yesterday was my turn. So glad it didn't last long!

Oh no, Kellie! What an awful way to spend New Years! I'm glad it didn't last long.

Happy New Year everyone! I cannot believe that it's 2017! 2016 went by so quickly, but I must say, I'm not sad to see it go. Here's hoping that 2017 is great!

Happy 2017 everyone!

Kellie hope you feel better soon. I feel like everyone I've seen in the past month was either getting over being sick or starting to get sick - including the Texas gang.

Back to work for me today after two full weeks off - mixed feelings because while I enjoy not having to get dressed and go out, I am a creature of habit and schedule so getting back to it is nice.

I did not get my website completely ready while I was off (go figure), but I'm adding products now, so shouldn't be much longer. I'd be interested in some brutally honest feedback from some folks before I go live with it. Any volunteers?

Ditto Melissa's comments Kellie & Margo! Hope everyone has a healthy & happy 2017.
Started the cone 6 kiln at 11 am this morning- been putting stuff in steadily thru December. Have to pack up a ton of stuff for Medalta next week- 1/2 a kiln load for the cone 9/10 soda kiln. My last sale indicated that people want regular pottery more than lights so I am doing a bit of a pivot for 2017- still making lights but I will add a larger range of items now. Fingers crossed!

Happy & healthy 2017 to everyone! My resolution is to stay out of hospitals & emergency rooms - I wish the same to all of you

This is my annual post about how much I hate inventory. Fortunately, I found a couple of things I had lost 😀 so I guess there is a benefit to hauling all of these heavy boxes & envelopes around ...

Happy 2017 to all. I hope you all had a great holiday. Ours, unfortunately, was spent sick with bad colds and fevers- I made it to boxing day, but have been feeling crummy since. So, I am looking forward to getting back to something normal....

After I clean through my work room. That is in need of an overhaul!

Flu has been super awful this year (at least for me and the husband, who has only really been sick once in the 8 years we've been together). We even got our flu shots, which I know are a guessing game as to what strains are going to be most impactful but still!

Donna - I'd love to take a peek at your website when you think it's ready. :)

Hope everyone rests up and feels better who is sick! Sending you all virtual cups of lemon & honey tea!

Happy New Year everyone.

Our house was hit by the dreaded flu bug as well but I only got a few symptoms. I am the only one in the house who had the flu shot way back when it first was available. And the only reason I did get it was because I had to pick up my prescription! But playing nurse isn't one of my specialties at all.

Hubby had to play in Drumheller at the legion for NY Eve. It was a strange evening. They only sold 33 tickets so it was really a quiet room for a bit. But those legion members knew how to party. It was pretty comical.

They came over one or two at a time to chat with the band wives even though there were only two of us. But crazy strange and funny people there. They were so proud to announce the meal and made the two of us go first while the guys were still on stage. The meal consisted of some sort of salad thing. Uneatable to say the least, There were meatballs in a crock pot that were so burnt they looked like dried up dog turds in the summer sun! The sliced beef was so thin you could see through it. I didn't even bother with the ham. But the horseradish was really good! It made me wonder why I went this year. Most years I stay home with wine and or beer and watch television. Those were the days. lol

Feel better soon everyone!

Speaking of inventory fun, do any of you have recommendations for software or websites to use to keep track of it all? Or do you guys just use a massive Excel doc?

I just use a spreadsheet. A lot of the programs out there are way too complicated, take just as long to set up as a good spreadsheet, and most are not geared to Canadians, so they may have a lot US tax features we don't need. I use spreadsheets to do my taxes too. Makes it easy to copy a new one each year then compare to previous totals.

In terms of using a spreadsheet Cindy, what info are you collecting? Name of item, size, quantity, is that it?

Just item, quantity, value, so I can total the value up for tax purposes. The name of item might include size if I have more than one type.

All I have to do each year is add a new column to each sheet (I have them organized by material) for the year, then enter what I have in stock. It's mostly easy but tedious, & also hard on me because there is a lot of lifting etc.

Then I do some January supply ordering off of the results.
