Treasury Tips and Advice

Jump to solution
Feel free to share any advice you have for treasury making here!

1. Pick and item and create a treasury around it. It's always fun to hunt for things that will work with a single item!

2. Favorite any listings that catch your eye and when you're going for a particular theme, you can search in your favorites and already have quality listings picked out.

3. Always make sure to maximize your tags! Don't just use colors and seasons for tags, try to think of an occasion or perhaps a place someone would wants the items you picked out for.

4. Try to create treasuries with listings that have similar backgrounds.. such as all white, or outdoors, dark or such. It really helps to capture the essence of what you're going for.

5. Try to help out new shops! It's a great way to help starting Etsy sellers by featuring their items in treasuries.. they'll feel welcome to the community!

Here are my tips:

1) Want to know whether your treasury made it to the front page?

I just found out how - by signing up with your shop name and your email to statsy.herokuapp.com/featurator

2) Always refer to the Etsy Merchandising Desk for the latest trends.

They always pick the treasuries for the front page that feature items that are aligned with the latest trends. Here is the last post there: http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2013/trend-watch-spring-2013-with-etsys-mary-andrews/

3) Always refer to the "Today's trending tags"

You can find them on the right hand side when you click on your name, then on "See more" next to your treasury lists.

4) Always have fun!

Hi - do the treasuries have to be all team members items, or a minimum number?

Thanks.

They do not and there is no minimum. The two rules I care most about is tagging your treasuries extreme team and commenting on the five treasuries posted prior to your own.

Hi, chaps! I've just joined and will be more active in a couple of weeks. I'm away from home at the moment with not much opportunity to create nice Treasuries.

Just wanted to say, if you haven't already found it, that the "Saved Item Stash" prototype is now my favourite tool for making Treasuries quickly and easily.

Have a look. It's great!

A new tip!

Make sure to use all 16 of your tags! I'll occasionally notice folks don't utilize all 16 tag slots they get for each treasury. Be creative! Even put basic terms such as "home decor" or "jewelry". It makes a big difference in the amount of people able to find and search for your treasury!

Is it a good idea to replace an item in a treasury once it has sold or leave it be? I'm always conflicted, as the sold item might still draw interest just to see if the Etsy shop has more of the same. Decisions! Decisions!. as my mom used to say. Any good advce or tips?

Thanks!

I like to pick a theme and a color scheme before I make a treasury then select items within the scheme. That way, I can find items by searching my theme and color.
