Re: DAY 6

This for me is the hardest part. I am not confident with my writing skills but will give it my all :)

Re: DAY 6

Dawn, I always advise first person. Third is so stilted—I recommend emphasizing your artisan-made aspect by writing in the first person.

Re: DAY 6

Danialy
First thing I notice are the pics - they seem to be all of one item you have for sale.
Do you have rando pics of your hoard? Pics of items getting packed up? Pics of you out collecting?
Mixing that up would be great!

ETA:
And maybe in your writeup - talk more about what type of pieces you like to collect and sell. See if you can't add more info.

Re: DAY 6

Dawn your "About" is beautiful! You inspired me to rethink mine. Thanks!

Note: Mine is just a friendly feedback. Still learning. Let's see what the pros say.

As for me... I'm back to the drawing board.
Also reworking my work space for pictures.

Re: DAY 6

Olya - a lawyer huh?? :)

I like it. Agree on more pics but I think it sounds good.

Re: DAY 6

@ Olya. Yes, some more pictures would be good- one with you in them! Also, maybe add in an interesting fact about your process. Is there a material you use that is unique to your jewelry? A way of doing things? Something you have changed to be more sustainable/green?

I completely re-wrote my about page text a few days ago, and all the pictures are new as well. I am very happy with it.

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

Olya - nice to meet another lawyer / jeweler / Etsian! :)

Ok. Off to take some photos of my newly organized studio space and my new packaging and revamp my about page...

Re: DAY 6

@ Olya I am curious to know about your process. Is it painted jewelry? And yes, more photos, please!

@ Rachel, I think your about page looks great.

Ok, off I go...

Re: DAY 6

about page refreshed!

I enjoyed reading the above 'about pages'!

I think the about page not only personalizes the shop but also adds more interest and another dimension!

Re: DAY 6

My About page is up to date for both shops :) I need more pictures for the soap shop and I need to get my profile done for this shop. I worked on 31 listings yesterday!

Re: DAY 6

I did my about page a while ago and I kinda like the text but I am definitely going to change the first two photos. Soon (-ish). Although I have much space in the spare room it is not as I want it to be to be photographed but I will try to have my hubby shoot some pics with my hands while I work (camera shy, I am not showing my face!).

I would love to hear your suggestions though.

@Daliani. I like your about page and I would promt you to write a little bit more about your shop mission. Like, why you think your shop stands out, which people can you reach, etc.

@Olya, I love your maskot and your about page overall. I agree on having all 5 slots filled for the photos.

@Rachel, I love the story about the blue dogs!!! Makes you laugh and the customer connects! Brilliant!

@Dawn, I had to think for a second what SAHM stands for, lol! Your helpers are cute as can be!!! I feel your pain about the manicure girl!

@ Tris, I dig your double persona!!! I think you too may need a shoot of yourself/hands in the action!

Re: DAY 6

I had planned to revamp my about page this summer with more photos of myself at work. But it does feel good just to get it done!

It would be great to have some feedback. Do you find the text too long? I will be posting better photos soon (especially the first one. : / )

Re: DAY 6

Akamatra I like the shots of others in their studios doing their art 'hands on' and I did take a photo in my shed working but the picture showed me how horribly messy my shop still is (even after a tidy up) so I need to 'shovel' out a bit more sawdust before I attempt another!

Re: DAY 6

Ugh. I'm falling so far behind on the cleanse!

One side note:
I got a glimpse of a new test layout (only for a minute, when I had to log on from someone else's computer to ship orders because my internet was down one day) -- Well, on the version that has a large image for each shop section, the About page does not include the text at the bottom of the photos.

I like having the text at the bottom of the photos on the About page, as it tells a brief story for those who don't want to take the time to read the bio. So I'll be keeping my eye on any potential layout changes, and may actually add the text right to the photo if that does happen.

Re: DAY 6

Mary, I'm just starting so I can't offer much advice but I can tell you that you seem like such an interesting artist. Your pieces tell a story. Very cool. Love that you're unique! Your art is too!
