I think the time has come to bug the Etsy admin about allowing the sale of downloads. I hear about so many problems with emailing pattern pdf files, so I think it would be great to have them available as Etsy downloads. I just started a thread in the Ideas Forum about this:

Please go to the thread, leave a comment, and spread the word. This kind of feature would help many of us Etsy fiber people immensely!

Team Updates 4/27

- We have a new leader!! YAY Yarns2Dye4! She's helping me get the forums organized. Let's try and help her keep them that way. :)

- We got our first Team FP a couple days ago! Woot!

- We now do 2 teammate interviews per week. One came out Monday (with KDemARTe), and one will come out Thursday (with GloriousGrazers!!!).

- The team will be hosting 2 BNSs each week. My "Pronk&Pounce BNS" will be every Monday or Tuesday, and Yarns2Dye4's "High Roller" BNS will be every Friday!!

Just a heads up to everyone... Yarns2Dye4 is hosting a weekly (or twice weekly some weeks) BNS for "high-dollar" items/shops. And I host our weekly regular BNS (most of the time, this is going to be held all day Tuesday).

Pleeease limit the amount of BNSs/BNRs you host, and try to direct more of that traffic to our team's "official" BNRs. If there are too many BNRs happening, they're ALL much slower, and it discourages people from participating and coming back! :(

I'm not going to make any formal rules about this or anything because I think that would be silly! But really please try to participate in the team BNRs and promote BNRs from this team over other team's BNRs, so we can concentrate as much traffic as possible, in one place! And also, because this team is geared toward helping you specifically. :)

If you're interested in curating a team BNR (because we all know it's got it's perks!), convo me and ask about it. :)

I've gotten so much more exposure since joining this team. Just want to thank WellCriated for finding me, I'm not sure I'd have found it on my own!

Really enjoying the chat threads, too. I'm having way more fun running my shop on Etsy by checking out BNR/BNS activity and other stuff. I haven't done a Treasury challenge yet because I've been insanely busy lately (I'm 6 months pregnant -- our first one! -- and we're getting our garden ready, plus my day job has been super busy), but I really, really want to do one so I'm going to try and participate in one...right after we take our little mini-pre-baby vacation next week. ;)

Also, thanks for the interview!! Loved doing it, glad people enjoyed it. My facebook page likes went up!

Pre-baby?! Are you having a human baby? Because if I remember right, all of your Alpacas are fiber-only? Lol, "human baby"... listen to me. :) You know when you've been in the business too long... when someone says "baby" and you have to ask what kind!!! :)

I am brand new and am wondering what is meant by a "high dollar" BRS? I only kinda sorta know what a Buy&Sell is, (not so clear on what a BRN is though Buy&Replace...?) anyway I am interested in learning more about this and maybe actually doing one. So if I could get filled in on this that would be great!

Hi Handi! :)

BNS - Buy & Stay. These go in rounds. So there are 16 featured shops. Once the 16 reach a certain number of sales (usually 12 or 15) as a group, it goes to the next round, where the buyers from the previous round are now featured.

BNR - Buy & Replace. This is pretty much the same thing, except there are no rounds. Replacements happen immediately. So if you buy from someone, you replace them right away. If someone buys from you, they replace you right away.

The high roller is a version of a BNS, where the more you buy or spend, the longer you stay!

For instance... in a normal BNS, spending $3.00 (generally the minimum to buy in) gets you into the next round.

In a high-roller, if you spend $30.00, that gets you into the next few rounds. They all have slightly different price breaks, but that's the general idea! :) Spending more = staying longer. The reason these are becoming popular, is a lot of people have higher priced items, so they don't do well in normal BNRs where the min buy-in price is $2.00 or $3.00.
