Weekly Discussion Thread - Naming Pinterest Boards

Hi, everyone! We're starting a new series of threads for the team - a discussion of one topic for a week. This week, our subject is "Naming Your Pinterest Boards".
How do you decide what to name a board? What are some suggestions you have for common topics to give a board title a little twist?
How narrow or broad are the subjects of your boards?
Does a board title matter to you in deciding whether to follow a particular board?
Are there titles that you avoid when you see them?
Which of your boards seems to be the most popular? Does one get more repins than others?
Are there titles you've seen that you really like?
Or is this not a topic worth discussing?

Most of my boards have straight forward names. For some boards I had a bit of inspiration so the names have a little twist.
I can always use suggestions to rename my boards with straight forward names.

When I want to follow a board I look at the title but mostly at the pins. If I don't like most of the pins I don't follow.

My boards subjects are broad but all things I like.

I'm pagan so I avoid christian and other religiuos boards but that's my preference. I follow paganboards.

Since I got rid of the name Etsy in my board titles those boards have gained in followers. I try to mix Etsy and other pins on those boards.

My more darker boards have gained a lot of followers lately.

At first I had a number of boards with cutesie names but I've gradually gotten so that most of my boards have straight forward names....I think that helps with the search feature so that your items can be found. I think I have 70 boards (is that possible?? I need to go check) of that 70 I only have 1 board with etsy in the name but all my etsy items are pinned to specific boards, never to just that board.
I do believe that diy and food related boards are the most popular.

I'm not nearly as active on Pinterest as I was but I still pin and poke around pretty often :) Most of my boards have names that are relevant to me, if they sound cutesie it's because I think of them as being cutesie lol

As far as followers go, for my boards, it's been all about the content. My Hearth and Home board seems to have the most followers. I live in a log cabin so that board is mostly log home and decor. I also have a board full of sunsets that has a lot of followers. Strangely enough boards I pulled together to act as a mood board for creating a piece are still picking up followers and I haven't added anything to them since pinning the finished piece on them. I agree with the DIY, seems anything I pin DIY gets repinned like crazy.

Dana - let me clarify my cutsey cutsie? board name comments, I guess what I meant was the name mostly tells what's on the board. I do have a "Polka Dot" board, and a "Cute As a Babies Behind" board. I have an Important Words, one also. Mostly you can i.d. the content by the name is all I meant.

Most of mine are simple and straightforward! Nothing to fancy. I keep it that way for search purposes.

My board names are straightforward. I'm not sure how to tag my Pinterest board. There are too many different items to name them individually.

I never think about the search function when I name my boards.

When I repin and the comment is only a . instead of a word i change it to something relevant to the pin so it can be searched.

@Lynette, when you say your Pinterest board, do you mean you're not sure how to name one board for your Etsy shop?
