Shop views, but limited listing views

Hi everyone!
I am a total newbie to the whole etsy thing, so I appreciate all of the input I can get!
I am selling my late father's artwork. He made a living selling his art for over 30 years, and it is the perfect way to honor him as well as make some extra income.
I have a ton of shop views, but barely any listing views. I have experimented with SEO, keywords, titles, etc. I know I am completely missing the mark on something. Could it be my photography?

Do you guys see anything that would deter you from either viewing (or even purchasing) anything in my shop?

Thanks a million!
-Samantha

Your father's work is wonderful! I think the only thing piece of advise is maybe vary the featured pictures as far as colors/subjects. Until I scrolled down I thought maybe it was all landscapes. That wine bottle picture should be up there, imo, it has a completely different look than the ones that are up there. They are all beautiful but maybe you could show a little more variety at the top? Best of luck to you!

Re: Shop views, but limited listing views

What lovely art!

I would work more on my listing titles and keywords. Move the 8x10 size to the end, and put your most important keywords at the front of the title.

Important = the most relevant phrase (keywords are really phrases) that a buyer is likely to use to find your work, see it, and want to buy it! The goal is to get to the front of a popular and well searched term, so that the most buyers will come across your item.

You can research keywords that other people are using for art at marmalead.com with the free membership. Definitely have a look there, and good luck!

Thank you so much Katy! I had no idea that resource was available. Between refocusing on my keywords and phrases, and updating my pictures, I'm feeling positive about my possible success. Thank you so much!

How do you create keywords for a product that people don't know it exists?

Does the amount of favorites on items/shop influence the ranking in searches?
Thank You!

Re: Shop views, but limited listing views

I would try Google Adwords (see info in SEO & Relevancy team). Google Adwords will help give you keywords that customers actually use to find products, but read the instructions given in SEO & Relevancy team first. Try using Phone cover as the first two words in the title then use your descriptive terms after that. Adwords can help with keywords. I just put in my current description and then start adding the keywords I currently use. Make sure you have the keywords from you title scattered throughout your description and in your tags. I have read that all of this will help relevancy, but one of the largest factors currently is number of sales. Those of us with low sales may just have to wait or invest in some marketing training to get seen more.

Re: Shop views, but limited listing views

your titles and keywords are going to plummet you in search

https://www.etsy.com/listing/275669756/perfect-mothers-day-gift-8x10-fall?ref=shop_home_active_1

fall giclee print wine bottle with leaves red orange yellow napa valley art watercolor (etc)

tags

handmade giclee print, printed art, wall art, watercolor print, water color, home decor, fall colors, red yellow green, orange, wine bottle, napa valley, california, warm earth tree seasons 8 by 10 8X10

ect

(cram as many keywords in as you can, omit holidays and gift, unless you are listing something specific for that item or something relevant to gift, like gift wrap, cards, .gift ties and tags ect)

Re: Shop views, but limited listing views

Hi! I have had my shop for four months now, and I just made two sales. One was a 'real' one and the other was actually of a friend of mine. I wanted to ask you if you could also have a look at my shop and make a nice crit about it? any suggestions are super welcome!

Thank you very much!

Love,

Renata

Hello Samantha,
I think the watercolours are too cheap to be an original. Also the first photo has objects that are distracting. Try with more neutral colours so all the attention goes to the painting.
Best,

Re: Shop views, but limited listing views

Here is what I need to know:

Are these original paintings on canvas?

or

Are these prints/copies of the original paintings?

If these are original paintings on canvas, then I would think you should price the items much higher. Your target customer might look at the price of each listing and assume it is something less of what they want. They might want an original painting but assume what they are buying isn't an original painting on canvas because your asking $10.00 or something for a listing..
