Hello! My name is Natalie (though my friends call me Nat, so by all means, please go with that ;) My shop name is my Hebrew name, and it's also the one that I prefer to the English version.
I've been making enameled jewelry since I was five years old, when my aunt gave me a quick lesson in her kitchen. She was an art teacher and a working artist... as are most of my family members. I have been captivated with glass and metalwork ever since. Although I was a fine art and b&w photo teacher for ten years, I have always been making a little glass something on the side. Last year, I decided to make the big jump to become a working artist. So far, so good. I love being in my studio almost as much as I like to dance and sing! I am often doing all those things at once, which isn't always easy working with a 1500º kiln. I like to live on the edge ;)
I love the idea for this group ~ staying positive is so important to the survival of artists, since we tend to be our own worst critics! It's nice to know that there is a place to be *truly* kind minus the sarcasm...
My shop and my work are currently evolving on a massive scale, although it's not been posted to Etsy, yet. I am putting the finishing touches on a new website, moving my studio/home to a 10,000 square foot space at the very top of a Victorian mansion, and working like a fiend for a huge vending event at the end of the summer. BUT... here are my current links (I'll post updates when I have more info):
