What are the steps to put categories under Shop Section?

Each time I put a new listings I wrote the category in the message bar of "Shop Section - option", examples: wedding dresses, veil, neck warmer. When I click on the publish button, the category I wrote in the "Shop Section" message bar do not show up on my site. Why is that? The word "option" beside "Shop Section" is gray instead of blue. Does the color make any difference?

I see many of you in the group are successful at putting categories under the "Shop Section". Could someone help me please.

Hi

You need to create sections first and then select them when you are listing, rather than writing it in manually.

To create your sections you need to click on "your account", then "info and appearance", and then choose the middle tab which is "sections", here you can create up to 10 sections. You can then put all of your existing items into a section, and when you list in the future you will be able to put items straight into sections as they will all appear in the dropdown box.
