Hi,

I'm brand new to Etsy, so there is probably a better way of finding stuff out about the site that Im just not aware of, but can anyone explain to me how the site promotes work and how that correlates to views/sales of your work? I posted just a few pieces to try out the site, most of them got 5-10 views over a few days, and one got 300 in an hour. WTF? Can someone more seasoned, or equally confused, share their thoughts?

Hi CarmelaMachiato, welcome! My guess is that it's time to look for Halloween costumes. The searches are done by relevancy to the keywords you choose, particularly in your item's title.

BTW I am only slightly more seasoned and pretty much always confused.

Someone may have relisted their item, which could explain why their shop showed that many hits within the hour. The hits were carried over from when they originally listed. Just a guess ....
