Sharing a bit of what I've learned....

So many people on this team have given wonderful advice on many different threads I"ve read, I'd like to pay a little of that forward if that's ok.

Not too long ago, I was waiting (and waiting) for my first sale and getting quite discouraged and I took lots of your wonderful advice......one thing that has REALLY helped me get some sales is relisting an item or two each day consistently. I"ve done BNRs (and I Love them.....its quite addicting, its alot of fun, you meet new people and it does help) and I've done some showcases (which I do not think helped at all) but most of my sales (17 to be exact now) have come from a relisting and getting my product up at the top of the list, or someone noticed one of my relistings and was kind enough to use it in a treasury and it was noticed there.

Even to list or relist one item a day, is not too much out of pocket in the grand scheme of things, and I think it really is the biggest way I've gotten sales.

I hope this helps someone as the advice here has helped me.

Re: Sharing a bit of what I've learned....

I have found the same trend - I don't relist every day b/c I try to keep costs to a minimum, but I do at least two times per week. I've also noticed that some times are better to relist than others. For example, listing on a Sunday night usually gets me no results; however, renewing those on a Tuesday morning or afternoon will get me tons of hits and now and then some sales :)

Relisting or new listings at least once a day is the best thing I have learned!

Thank you for your great advice. I have started re-listing a little at a time.
I am going to keep adding a bigger variety of items to choose from as well.

I also believe that relisting at least once per day has been very helpful to my sales. Good luck and if your not sure, try it for a week and see if you have greater sales.

Re: Sharing a bit of what I've learned....

Thanks for this post. I have been relisting at least 5 times a day and still haven't received a sale from a stranger but I'm staying as confident as possible, reminding myself I have to promote as much as I can and that I am in a saturated area. It'll happen! Just gotta work for it. :)

Thanks for the advice, any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated! I'm working on either posting a new item or relisting an existing item each day. Wish me luck!

Re: Sharing a bit of what I've learned....

I totally agree about getting sales from re-listing. Just this week I had a sale of a re-listed item and within an hour I had a convo from someone asking about the exact same piece that had just sold! She was upset it had sold and wanted to know if I could make another one!

And let me also mention that in the beginning (as a buyer)when I first started to check out etsy, I thought the shops that were always listed towards the beginning of the feed were so awesome. I thought, wow, they must have a ton of sales each day since the same items are coming up again. Now I've learned the secret to that is re-listing. Not that I'm trying to deceive buyers with my # of sales (they can click in my shop and see how many), but maybe some of them are thinking the same thing! Hope so because I am awesome, that's not deceiving! Lol.
