Oh boy. I know I am going against the grain here, and probably will get some not so nice emails but...I don't have a facebook page any longer(over a year). Never twittered. I removed my blogs from my announcement as I noticed a big drop in sales and hearts. Now one may not have anything to do with the other, just saying.
For sellers, support is very important, but as buyers, there may be something about "too much" personal information.
I give myself 2 hours per day to read etsy emails, retake photos, postings, etc. I simply do not have the time for facebook, nor twitter. I have even cut back on my blogging time. Between my shop and life in general I feel extra time on facebook, twitter and blogs would certainly take away from creating. My ultimate goal is to work through the destash and have nothing but my handwork.
Please give this some thought. In all the etsy success emails I have read, only one seller said what I said above. If I only have x amount of time per day to work on my shop, I would rather have it going towards improving my shop and products, not "getting out there" as I say.
I still have much to learn, but still consider my time priceless. This of course will be different for each seller, but as newbies we can get sidetracked and maybe not focus on the big picture, which for me is my shop, not so much networking which I feel takes one away from the big picture.
blessings, jilly
