I have created a million different banners and I am not too happy with the one I have chosen. Let's just say it is the lesser of all the uglies ; ) I have spent a lot of time on setting up my blog and wanted them to be similar but is that too boring?? I would love some advice!!!
Hi RubyandJane! I looked at your banner & I think it would work better if you picked between just the tatted/lace design OR the 2 jewels on either end. I think having them both there clash. If it were my desicion, I would pick the tatted/lace detail to keep :) Hope that helps... Jessica
I really like your banner. It's crisp & clean & pretty. I don't think it's boring to have the same banner in both places..people will start to recognize you by your banner and/or avatar. I'm guilty of changing up my avatar when I get bored with it though..
i think the same banner in both places helps people link your blog to your shop. like if you have to many different things it gets confusing.
I like your banner
I was also wondering about my banner. I kinda just pieced things together quickly. its basically a proto type. does it look good? well for a quick fix..
I loved your banner, I would personally go for 2 different jewelry items at each side, 2 patterns etc. but it looks very neat and love the colours. Can I ask what software you're using for the banner, I've no clue how to make one personally. Thanks.
Aww I don't hate it at all! I think it's very nice, just offering some help to improve a little-that's all :) looks great though & I love your earrings!
I like the banner. Not happy with mine, but I just have to work on things a little at a time until I learn how to do them. No need to hurry or get upset.
I think I agree with ranawiyet... Maybe try and switch up the jewelry - or maybe go to just the tatted/lace. Also, decide what you want people to see most. Right now when I look at your banner I see the jewelry first - but since you have the bold-colored jewelry on both sides it sort of plays trick on the eye. You don't know where to look first. So - If you want your name to stick out most then maybe you go with just the tatted/lace and make sure your title is bold and prominent. Or if you want the jewelry to show up the most then maybe you only have one picture of it and let the name of your shop trail after it. It sort of depends on what you think is most important. Hope that makes sense.
What is your site about? Is in jewlery or tatted lace or both? If it's both, I'd keep both on your banner. It it's just tatted lace, only use the lace. Have you thought of displaying some of your hand crafted items on the banner? It would entice visitors to look further into your shop or blog.
I would like to change my name from "jjab6156" to "Homespun Memories by JoAnn" or "Tea Party Favorites by JoAnn". How do I do this? Also how do I edit my profile and feature a picture?
Hi Carol of Carol's Quilts. We neighbors! I live in Huntington, WV. We shop alot in South Point. I like your banner. Maby if you put the name of your shop on to of the picture of the quilt. What program do you use. I have "Paint" on my computer. JoAnn
I don't think it's boring to have the same banner in two places. I agree that it helps people recognise you and your business. I worry endlessy about my banner but I'm coming round to the idea that it's ok to change it whenever I feel like it and the more of them I make the happier I am with the results. I think if you do lace and jewellery it's ok to include both on your banner :)
jjab6156-I'm not sure yet. I have tatting on there but I wanted to leave it open and sell many different types of things. As far as your name...I think once you have picked something you are stuck with it. You need to create a new shop to make a new name.
MuttLover- The cat and dog tails in your banner make it hard to read the name of your shop. I would take them out and concentrate on making your shop name larger.
ranawiyet- I used Microsoft Power Point. You need to go to the design tab and edit the slide to be 27x3.5 That is pretty close to the measurements of the etsy banner.
Every item you love has a story.......... I just love that you created that because that is exactly how I feel about everything I've collected for a lifetime. I like to know the story behind it all! I really like your banner. It is crisp and clean with the font Ruby & Jane. I like the pieces on each side but if I was just looking at your sight ~ would I know that they are jeweled pieces. I almost had a nervous breakdown over the banner. Finally, pawned it off to my son's friend who has photoshop. Not totally happy. I do like yours and I wish you tons of sales. Susan
