Ok, so doing the happy dance right now. Just got my 100th sale... I was stuck at 99 FOREVER or a week or so. In under 6 months, makes me happy.
So, how did that happen? What's the magic? Here are a couple of tips, I have lots but just including a few.
1. Make stuff you LOVE.
2. LOVE what you do
3. Read, read and then read more from the critique teams and Etsy Success
4. Work on your SEO and when it doesn't work, reinvent yourself and your store
5. Find something good in everything that happens, you may not know why stuff is happening, but there is always a treasure at the end of the rainbow despite the rain.
6. Get up to 100 items in your store, yes, you really do start to get noticed then. (Great photo's too)
7. Ask for help from team mates and critique teams
8. COMMUNICATION, when someone buys something say thank you, let them know when you shipped and put a special note in the package for them. Everyone wants to feel special, in customer service the customer is all there is.
9. Be kind and honest to everyone.
10. List something new or renew every day
11. Check out trends
12. If you don't have sales, pay someone to buy a couple of items, that way you can learn the system before it is a "real" customer.
13. I learned this from a friend who does a lot of shows, buy something from someone else, mayby one who hasn't had a sale, you'll help them plus both of you will feel great.
14. Help a newbie with questions.
15 Participate in teams, but try to always be positive!
