Just finished reading the book again, for the fourth time! I don't want to spoil the wonderful book so I am not sure how to start posting my thoughts on it.
Suffice to say that one of the reasons I enjoy the book is the imagery that Harris brings to the reader's mind.
Let me step back a bit. I loved watching the movie but a few story lines were detracted from the book (isn't that often the case?), which made the movie seamless. The movie is eye candy with delicious costumes, which seem mostly from the 50s, and breath taking scenery, and for the most part tries hard to go along with the book's theme of magic in the chocolat mixture.
It's further in the book that a storyline is introduced on little cat's feet, sneaking in, and giving one pause, as it did for Vivane, sparking memories. How she deals with the memories is something to think about.
