And welcome to Erica, Hi Tink! Enjoy your class, Pennee. Made garlic scape and basil pesto with the last of the scrapes from my garden last night. Delish, but I think I can still taste it! 😛
morning all. welcome Erica! tink- I've had that kate wolf belt sander for a few yrs and I agree. one of my best loved, most used tools. love it for sanding flat resins and all sorts of stuff. have fun at class pennee.
I can't believe how many of you are self taught. I needed a couple classes to get started. I would not have had a clue how big a flame to have on the torch or even the most basic things although I did fuse some argentium and fine silver with a butane torch prior to my first soldering class. And I would not have a clue about how to hold a saw or set the blade either.
Terri, my class was way back in high school (way back!). Then I worked part time for a metalsmith for a few years. I get a lot of my info from books, online toots (thanks Sue!), and listening to everyone here. I still have a lot to learn!
If Sue's around....I knew there was something else about your soldering station setup niggling away at me. The light just came on now, I think your residential electrical code is virtually the same as ours, and here you need to keep the floor area clear in front of breaker panels. Think it's 3 feet or maybe 1 metre here now.
Obviously not a problem unless there's some sort of insurance claim. Just crossing the 'i' and dotting the 't'.....
It's always a party up in here. Little J even helped out by cleaning up the floor where she'd been sitting. Bless his heart, he didn't want to, but he did it. He may as well learn now that these things sometimes take two people.
She handed me something and it took me just a second to realize it was a turd.
