Good morning.

That's really interesting about Hedda, Esme. It actually might be a really good sign that she's super creative. TV offers the stories and defines the characters in kids' minds. Not wanting to watch them on TV might mean she prefers to create the stories herself. Just my opinion but when I was in school for early childhood education I believe that was the argument for the value of free play.

Sesame Street was better before they went on HBO. Just one mom's humble opinion.

I would like to stay home and paint all day. Or play in gemstones. Mommy needs some free play.

my free play today is shopping and hitting the American Girl doll store today with the kids- and having a dim sum lunch at my fav dim sum restaurant in VA. I can already picture the carts of goodies going by. It's been ages since I had real dim sum!
This is the 3 x now rescheduled trip the kids were promised as part of their Christmas gifts- they love the American Girl store, mostly just to look, maybe buy something little

Have fun! K is fascinated by the American Girl catalogs we're already getting, but she's too little still for an expensive doll like that.

They really are outrageous Erin. I remember when the Madame Alexander dolls were all that and I thought they were pricey. The only good thing I can say is even Wal-Mart sells clothes and accessories for them, it's a standard 18 inch doll. And loads of places sell patterns for those who like to sew- which beats the heck out of trying to make Barbie size clothes. The girls like the store for the displays they do. We did "tea" once- but the one we go to is real iffy on their service- I read horror story reviews- we were lucky the one time we did it and it was fun

Pennee, I had Madame Alexander's Little Women collection and they were so beautifully made back then. When I bought them for M's granddaughters, they weren't nearly as well made.
Am terribly afraid my rolling mill is out of alignment.

Mine has don that a few times Kit- it takes a bit of fiddling but it will realign. Open it all the way up and watch the gears on top- you can usually get them to go back how they should b- just go slow

Good Morning! Sorry to have posted and run...it's been a really busy few days, and I posted just before I left for work on Friday.

Laura...I need to measure the stone. I'll do that a little bit later. I tried Gem Resources and I wasn't thrilled with the cuts. I think I'm just going to order one from Stuller. It's oval and has been a huge PITA to set! I know my client is starting to get impatient that it's taking so long to finish, but I've had to remake the bezel now twice due to the funky nature of this stone.

DH and I ran the 5K yesterday. It was a blast! DH smoked it! He came in 6th for his division and 89th overall out of over 3000 people! He seriously rocked it! I came in around 511 and 302 for my division. Not bad for my first one. My time was nearly a full 2 minutes below my goal, so I'm happy. The weather should be beautiful today, so I'm going to go for a ride this afternoon and studio time later. :)

DH and I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday afternoon, and I found an awesome cabinet on sale. I think I finally have something big enough to contain the majority of my beads (this is mostly beads only...not gemstones!...that's an entirely different problem!). It was fun to go back through my collection and find beads that I purchased when I was in high school! I really need to pull some out and make something special with them all.

Laura, that’s interesting about kids creativity. I didn’t think about it like that. Doll Elmo is very much a person to her so maybe it confuses her to see him in clips.

I saw that, Chrisdy - Hobby Lobby has cute furniture. Nice find! My neighbor has a flat file for storing her sewing patterns in - such a great idea.

I crashed today...slept for 3 hours this afternoon. The run yesterday really wore me out. I managed to head to the barn this evening and had a great ride before the rain moved in. :-) So glad that we are finally starting to get some moisture.
