Setting stones glue question

I am about to set a glass tube filled with tiny Herkimer diamonds (which I mined myself!). I am pretty sure that I will need to secure the setting with a little glue. Which glue do you use for setting stones? Epoxy? Thanks-

Re: Setting stones glue question

Actually the glue will be to secure the glass vial to a sterling bezel, not the Herks.

Re: Setting stones glue question

Hello artdi
I use a 2 ton clear apoxy , called Devcon
This has worked for me so far but then I'm only been doing this like 5 year and only had to use this a couple of time. I hope this helps.

3M Epoxy 330 is a good one. It's clear when cured, doesn't yellow, joins dissimilar materials (except aluminum), and can take a polish when used for inlay. Most importantly it isn't water soluble like many epoxies.

Re: Setting stones glue question

Devcon two part epoxy is highly recommended by many people as it is stable over a long period of time with no discoloring. I use it for many applications. However the REALLY good stuff is hx-tal - its museum grade, but pricey.
