I'd better get back outside and get more done, warning of a severe thunderstorm and wind this afternoon. Might miss me.

Esme- love the little ghost window on the back!

Skipping the wine festival today- darn cold will just not go away and I don't want to spend the day coughing over my wine glass. At least I may get to finish a few things to list.

Ah...another sunny day. Such a pretty weekend here!

Hey Sue, if you're around, I have a teensy medical question for you...
my college kid came home this weekend and got a flu shot on Friday.
The area on her arm swelled a bit and got very red. The swelling seems to be a bit lower today, but there is still a big red patch on her skin around the site. (by big I mean about 3" around) Should she be going to a doc to have it looked at? She's worried. But she's driving back to Ann Arbor today. Not sure what to do.

Oh, and she looked over my shoulder while I was looking at your website this morning...she has a friend named Zach Szabo and wondered if you are related?
I'd guess Zach is about 26 or 27?

September started off so slowly I feel obliged to mention just had a sale. Maybe the month is getting back on track.

And one wholesale outlet had sold out of their copper bracelets. Maybe there is a future with them.

Morning everyone. Late night last night, but the cookies and cupcakes were a hit at the party! I didn't even get to eat one of my own cupcakes! Don't you hate that?

Macaroons in that treasury looked so good!

Jamie's dust worked- did get a small sale today- hoping that leads to better things

CG I think your copper cuffs will really be hot over the holidays- if they sold out already, you may want to get a bit ahead before the shoppers start- but you've done those wholesale things a long time, you probably know best how much you need. Do people tend to get more generous and buy more silver close to the holidays?

Re: September Chat thread

Pennee, I do wholesale some copper bracelets that are not quite as wide as the ones here, along with what's here. The problem with selling them here is mainly my shipping costs, I like the way I'm shipping but I do fall short about $8 -to $9 from what I charge. Too big a hit on a $50 - $70 copper bracelet.

I noticed when I had the store that Xmas shopping for gifts was never quite what you'd expect. The bulk of the market for jewellery as gifts tends to be more conservative - many people might dare to experiment with their own jewellery but not so much when buying gifts.

But recipients of cash as a gift do seem to buy for themselves post Christmas.

I don't think I was aware shipping was so high from Canada- shame that you have to lose money- unless you can deduct the loss for business?? That's all such a hassle, I like to keep my tax stuff as simple as possible.
I was just thinking that copper and brass in general have become very popular and with the holidays might be a great seller. Wish I had a crystal ball for what shoppers want.

Re: September Chat thread

Pennee, it just becomes business overhead. I could ship slightly less expensively but wouldn't be happy with the less certain delivery times. It's not so bad, my average sale is close to $150 making it not too unbearable.

Out for more blocks.
