i think i'll stay home tonight cause i'm a bit iffy tonight. i hate to bail on my partner and i can't reach her, but then she does it to me all the time. haha.

Inhale used that NuSkin too. It's pretty good but when they are deep it doesnt stay way down in there. I do love it for other stuff though.

I'm at the library. #1 has book club. It's usually so peaceful but this time one if the kids has 7 little siblings who come along and they are noisy. Not as enjoyable this month.

Yeah, and they are all small. They drive one of those vans that daycare centers use with those awful freaking stick people stretching across the whole back window. I'm sure they are nice, the kids are fine, it's just a lot of them. I think they are one of those religions where the woman has to dress like a frump in skirts and pantyhose while the men can dress like peacocks. They do seem like engaged and nice parents though.

I can't imagine it either. Some are cut out for that, some aren't.

CG, did you get power back yet?

Ann, again cutting to the heart of the matter.

Yep, power's back on. Only off a bit over four hours but messed up my day. I'm now working on a silky cuff that needs to be in the mail tomorrow. Have to leave for town early too, so have to finish tonight. And mixed less concrete than I should have. Oh well, could be worse.

Actually have lots of silver, just going to be out of a single size this week, and the cost of shipping makes it useful to order more sizes. Fingers crossed for the price to stay for a week or so.

I hope I didn't offend anyone. I'm Italian Catholic but only as far as the birth control thing...that is just stupid. If you can feed 'um, clothe 'um, educate 'um and want 'um...go for it. Two is plenty much for me but they really did look like a happy family, albeit loud. It's the frumpy wife with the decked out husband that bugs me but, to each their own.

Sorry about your power woes CG. We were without power for about 6 days a while ago and it was a revilation. It was before I was on Etsy though and I had no reason to have power then. It was kinda nice but I wouldn't want to live like that forever.

I love our little library. It used to be horrible and dumpy but then they built a new one and it's fabulous. People STILL gripe about it here though, which gets me riled.

Yeah, me too. But, I'm a little high strung. Just picking up 4 when I have to carpool does me in.

OK, both mine are sleeping, Ben is fixing a neighbor's boiler (can't have a chilly sun room, now, can we?) and that means I'm out to work. :)

i have simulators for all e-book formats, and i can reserve anything to my local library branch, but i actually like the physical library building. my "safe place/happy place" as a kid

when arch gets a bit older, might try to go every month or so

right now my weekly outing needs to be for his benefit too, swimming, bird 'hunting', etc.

Rather attached to libraries myself, and books. I don't think I'd ever totally adjust to reading on a monitor. Nothing tactile.

I think we will lose the meditative nature that is the essence of most world literature to-date.

Most authors assumed their work would be approached in a whisper, not in a 5 second scroll-down synopsis, intermingled with twitter soundbites and tampon ads. Works will be skimmed with the speed, lax and arrogance of a first-year philosophy student.

I agree with the basic sentiment about paper books and I still have to print hard copy of anything I read intently for work, especially if I have to edit or review. But I gotta tell ya, I'm addicted to my nook! Easy to read, especially in bed with a tiny tiny LED night light and I now have reread a dozen or more classics (free) and have a whole bunch of titles in my "library."

My wife calls me a traitor to books.... But I do love it and since I de our science fiction, fantasy and historical fiction it does make for less expense and more convenience.
