That is tough Laura, is flood damage covered under insurance there ? ( I know in some places it can be pretty damn tough to get flood insurance)

have to finish my last few chapters for book club, get ready for out of town company tomorrow, up early to prune back a crepe myrtle before it rains- contractor starts on my screened in porch soon so I gotta get the tree out of his way!

hey guys. in from the studio a bit early- i was the only one there so i don't stay til 11 then. too creepy and dangerous.
i shaped a bunch of copper "bowls" to make some of more of my avi pieces. i also did some chasing a repousse on the copper piece i made to replace the broken stone from last week. i now have a bunch of copper prepared for enameling, if only the class would start. alas, not till the 11th. we are on a long summer break right now. i hate those stupid breaks. wanna see the piece i finished last night? i'll post on flickr- give me a sec.
it's hot as hell here too ann- 89 degrees at 10pm. humidity is like 80%. tomorrow, even worse.

Can you only enamel when the class is on? Do you have a kiln at your disposal at the studio?

bummer jaime. i have a tiny kiln at the university studio where i work but it sucks, doesn't hold consistent heat, it's just too old and never maintained. the class i take is at the museum and they have a huge awesome kiln- i much prefer that one. plus, i have a huge choice of colors there.
cg- it's black onxy, does it look blue? it's pretty black and white in real life, silver is oxidized. thanks for looking.

yes, the last we heard from marcus, he alluded to his having a health problem and then nothing since. i hate to be a butt-in-ski, but i'm starting to worry as well.

Sue, I like photo #6, the one with a more or less straight-on view and a bit of low angle side lighting to show the facetting.....

The black onxy pic shows the background as a very neutral grey. are the thin stripes on the onxy a shade of white or bluish? They look a pale greyish blue in the pic. Was there blue sky?

No, of course not, what do I know? But it would be nice to see one with the pendant as a larger proportion of the picture. Only an opinion.
