Ugh...I just had a long post and lost it. I'll summarize:
As an online buyer, I don't want to have to speak to anybody, at any time, during my purchase. That's one of the main reasons why I buy online.

CG, I know you probably don't want to do this, but...as a customer, I would prefer to be able to pick a size upon purchase. So, I would want to see a sizing guide, maybe as the last photo.
In the listing, you tell me what parts you need measured, I do so, then compare to the sizing chart, which would correlate with a size in the drop down options.
It may not be as exact as emailing/convoing back and forth but you could offer that as a "special treat" to those that want exactomundo.

Tink, that would make things easier but it's not practical. my bracelets fall into a number of categories that require different sizing info. I could explain but I'd bore you to tears.

I've done this long enough I like to bring my experience to bear. One example, some latching bracelets go on over the hand unlatched. This is a bear to size properly. A closed bangle size isn't good enough. A wrist circumference isn't good enough. I like to have both. And also I like to get a subjective assessment of what they'd prefer, a bit more push over the hand for a closer fit, or an easy push over the hand and a fit closer to a closed bangle.

Just can't go there in a listing. In a convo I can slightly vary what I ask to suit the buyer. Some love discussing, Some want to get in and out.

So, it's not really an appropriate to give chapter and verse in a listing. If only.

I'd do it in a heartbeat if it would work. It wouldn't. It's not like shoe sizes, or even ring sizes.

Actually, not many want to be 'in touch with the artist'...I'm very often pestering for clarification of measurements I know are off. I'll guess a third of the time they're off, which is one reason it wouldn't work. After the fact many thank me for pestering.

So I take it you won't be buying from me...ha ha.

I don't envy you having to make sure you have all those measurements correct and getting people to communicate them to you.

Kathy, it's just that there's no simple way to describe the measurements I need. for the plain wider hammered open cuffs it's the easiest, a wrist circumference is enough. But unless I'm sure it's a wrist circumference that's snug but not tight just above the wrist bone there can be a problem. Some will add in what they think the clearance should be and not mention that, some will measure a loose link bracelet and not mention that. It can go wrong so easily. And that's the easiest type to size....

What's funny is I wish I could share an ongoing as we speak example of exactly the difficulty of getting sizing info for a latch bracelet. A wry coincidence.

Morning- Happy October!! My favorite month usually, pretty leaves, great weather is what I hope for the month- along with better sales than Sept for sure.

I totally get why CG asks all those questions up front. Having exchanged more than 10 bangles a year for "wrong" size ordered, getting the customer to confirm measurements up front saves a lot of headache- and mine are just bangle exchanges. Cuffs would be a much more expensive headache

How is everyone?

I had a show this past weekend. It's usually a good one, this year was the worst sales in 4 years. I'm very frustrated with shows these days. Funny thing was a wholesale stone dealer came through and I bought some nice Labrodorite, Larimar, and Lapis from him. I didn't have time to look at his faceted stones, but he will be a great resource when I need stones.
