For Sue, your fave band the National will be playing and interviewed on the CBC radio show 'Q' in about half an hour. I'll report. Probably will be archived I think.
umm... i need to stay off facebook. someone just posted a photo of - well - basically a bedazzler for girly parts... sparkling crystal rhinestones of hello kitty that I guess you adhere to your skin - down there.
there are so many things wrong with that I just can't comprehend it.
Hello! Popping back in from a LONGGGG weekend volunteering for a charity horse show. I'm beat!
This show in the past has always had the best competitors and most polite people. Not this weekend! I had the husband of one of the competitors get in my face, had a trainer that was just a b&tch, but everyone else was great. The husband was nearly issued a warning card from the Technical Delegate, because he was up in her face. Unbelievable!
They were also having a Catfish Noodling Festival going on next to the Expo center where we were. It was crazy. Usually we have nice quiet classical music playing in the warm-up arena. Instead, on Saturday, somehow the Noodling festival's sound was piped into the warm-up arena. It was beyond hysterical.
It was crazy. The husband obviously did not know the rules, and was making a complete ass out of himself. Nearly caused his wife to be issued a warning card (3 in any given year, and you are banned from ALL recognized competitions).
The trainer is known for causing issues. She bullies her clients and is extremely unprofessional. She knows the rules just enough to not get herself in trouble.
She chewed out 2 of her students right as they came out of the ring. I had to get her to move twice because she was blocking the entrance to the arena. This is someone who has been around the show circuit for years...and definitely knows better. She didn't have a watch...and would keep pestering the ring stewards (me and my partner) for what time her students were going in. We would give her plenty of notice and time, but it was like we had to hold her hand every time she had a student ride.
Most everyone else was super. So, the rest of the show was great. Saw some really nice rides and it was just fun to be around some good friends that I don't get to see too often.
Very hick country, lol. The funniest part was when the announcer would come on and make his announcements. Think Jeff Foxworthy, lol.
It was just hilarious...you have all these gorgeous horses with their prim riders in coats and tails, with Willy Nelson playing in the background and the announcer going "Git 'R done". LOL
Sue, the 'Q' show lineup today could have been ordered for you. The National and also a shoe designer, Christian Le Bout....?, the red sole high heel guy.
To red soles I say so what, not a new idea, I've had red rubber soled rain/mud boots all my life....
The National, sort of low energy in the interview - tired? - , music nice enough music, OK good, must have more impact live.
