How do you prevent copper from tarnishing?

Hi everyone

I was just wondering what different methods people use for helping to prevent copper from tarnishing. I currently use Renaissance Wax but am looking for alternatives. Any thoughts?

I use the wax too, and it seems to do a decent job of holding colour - although not a good option for high polish. I have just come to live with the fact that copper tarnishes quickly. That is one of the reasons i love to oxidize copper ;-)

Thanks JazznJewelry - looks an interesting site :)

Hi Bella- yes, oxidising is a great way to prevent tarnish, but I do love the colour of polished copper!

You both have beautiful shops by the way...

After a high polish and good steaming, I will use a clear coat of lacquer to keep it from tarnishing. But it depends on the design and how much wear an item will receive.
