I am currently suffering over a custom order, it started out as an interesting project, by now it has given me lots of headaches, don't know how it will end (troubles are home-made, customer is nice and great to work with, can only hit myself..)...
had a kiddie day today, took them to the zoo to see the gorilla baby- enjoy:

Morning. Officially creeped out by Jens nazi customer. Somehow if you are spendng that kind of money to buy and frame that crap... I doubt its for the greater good.

I had a couple of nazi customers in my day. They were nazi re-eactors. Got off on dressing up like nazis and photographing themselves. They used to bring me thier film to,develop. Gag.

I've only refused one thing to frame because of "content". And that was boner guy. No boners allowed. (In the frame shop)

All other things I refused was because of logistics, it wouldn't fit, it wasn't in a condition to frame...etc

I've been framing for...geeze, almost 15 cumulative years and I've never seen nazi stuff.

Ironically, we found ourselves defending a nazi vampire a few years ago - we have a bi-annual goth fest which attracts folks who like to dress up and vampires are a popular theme. The official weekend photographer had taken a pic of said vamp and his missus which he posted to Facebook so they could see it. He got so much hateful stuff posted he took it down.

Now, I understand people having a visceral reaction to the uniform, I really do but given he was dressed as an undead, monster version I don't think he was trying to suggest they were actually the good guys. The real shame is that both photographer and Nazi donated to the SOPHIE charity in place of payment for the photograph - which is set up to stamp out hate crime based on peoples physical appearance and has actually made a big impact on police procedure and the law here.

@ Karen, yeah I can see that the 30ies and early 40ies in Germany had a very strong visual appeal (that was part of the success of this regime) and on some level I can understand why people are drawn to the symbolism etc…it’s just that there is so much beneath this “costume-surface” and I can’t ignore the ideology that comes with the costume. There is certainly a cultural element to this: coming from Europe, Nazi-stuff is probably more taboo than nudity/sex

So, I didn't prove my etsy bill could go over $500 with label purchases. Somehow my bill for the month ended under $500, not sure how it works but yesterday's label purchases didn't make it to April's bill.
