Starting up!

Hi, I'm new to online marketing and wondered if anyone had any insider tips as to how best to get noticed. I have read all the Etsy guidance and started a Facebook page but as I'm new to both I don't have too many followers at present. I'm doing my best to persuade friends to 'like' and 'recommend' but breaking into the wider community is the answer I guess. I made my first sale on Etsy within a week and have sold very successfully via shops and visitors centres here in Lincolnshire, UK. All tips would be very gratefully received. Re: Starting up!

Hi, well done on your first sale I found that trialing searches in Etsy to find the right tags for my makes was how I first got going on Etsy, I know you can pay to have your items appear as ads, but that's not something I currently do so I m not sure how successful it is. Other than that I try to add a few things at a time to hopefully appear near the top of people's search.

Good luck

Congrats on your first sale! I have found participating in Etsy Community helpful, and I will second adding new items fairly regularly. Make sure you have used all your tags and don't forget long tail more detailed search terms. Good luck!

Re: Starting up!

Keep networking and surrounding yourself with artists in your field, you will learn from them and vice versa.. the best way to get noticed is by putting your work in front of as many eyes as possible which in this day means online.. try other social media applications, such as pinterest, tumblr or twitter. Maybe try other online marketplaces such as: shopify, offerup or ebay. Hope this helps.. Good Luck!...

P.S. I notice that "favoriting" an etsy shop, a listing or even the etsy owner's profile helps in boosting sales as well. Feel free to "Favorite" my Shop and I'll Favorite yours back! https://www.etsy.com/shop/StevenTheArt?ref=search_shop_redirect
