Hi
Etsy says my conversion rate is low. I know that.
But with more views but few sales, will Etsy punish my store in any way?
I sell crocheted pieces handmade by me. I wish to keep the shop for many years to come. I want to make my shop more visible right now. Keeping a good name is the important one for me right now.
Please help!
Hello, I looked at your store and you have a very nice store. Our stores are similar in that I too have a low conversion rate. I get lots of traffic, people put things in their carts and don't come back. I've run sales, discounts and set up the "Thank you" discount. I've tried everything BUT, paying for etsy ads. Because I primarily sell yarn, I can't mark up my yarn enough to compensate for the cost of ads. By the time I pay for the yarn, Etsy fees and shipping, (I often lose on the shipping) I barely make any money. People know the cost of yarn and they aren't going to pay more for it than they should. I did quite well last year, but this year, I am dead in the water. Etsy is always changing their algorithms and for whatever reason, the algorithm isn't hitting my store. With you, since you produce an item, it might behoove you to try paying for ads. You could mark up your items to compensate for the cost of the ads. Also, I don't see that you are offering any discounts or have any sales, you might try that. You could offer the "Come Back" discount you can find under marketing. I do think Etsy bumps your search up when you do that. In addition, I have found that every time you list something new or update a product, your store gets a little bump. It is all about traffic. The more exposure you get, the higher your chances of exposing yourself to the person who will buy. Hopefully, someone else will also jump in here and offer you more suggestions. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your input! I will do the "come back" discount under marketing. I will look at your shop as well. Thank you for your valuable suggestions!
