@WonderBeeOrganics Glad you did the survey.  It will help all of us when Etsy fixes the issues.

Things have changed.  The economy is nearly 100% re-opened.  But, COVID is still causing problems.  And this is causing local, national, and international issues.  Lots of labor and supply shortages.  And government stimulus has ended.  That's all on top of Etsy's changes for "star seller," shipping, etc.  

Retail sales in July were down considerably.  And we'll know soon about August's sales.  So, we're trying to find ways to adjust: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/u-s-stock-futures-edge-lower-before-retail-sales-report-1163178456...

Hi, I just posted a second digital download listing and I noticed that when I click on the listing, where it usually says "Local seller" as my location, it says "United States". But this is only on my digital listings which are instant downloads. I don't e-mail them and I'm not sure how to fix this.

@PrintsByNatashaK I wouldn't worry about it too much.  It's either a glitch that will be fixed.  Or it's a way for Etsy to avoid taxes by "hosting" the image elsewhere.

And your shop is set up beautifully.  The best thing you could do right now is to keep making.  More pieces = more traffic = more sales.  And this will be even more important when the holiday season starts (October - December).  You'll want as much as possible by them.

With the economy struggling with the ongoing pandemic, Etsy's reported much lower sales expectations.  So, it's something everyone is struggling with.

@MikeKrausArt- thanks for the invite. I've a problem. My shop is for Etsy ads video PPT templates, but after some critiques, I'm told that Etsy takes the first image for ads which is not a video, and so it makes no sense to offer my templates for Etsy ads videos. In that case I need to overhaul my listings and change it for listing video templates and/or social media video. Can you please suggest your opinion on this?

Also, is it okay to temporarily close down the shop for making changes? Will that affect my shop in any way?

@VidBazaar It's true, Etsy videos are 2nd or later on the listing images.  

Etsy does say: "Buyers are loving listing videos! We know that shoppers are more likely to purchase an item if the listing includes a video. Cha-ching!* *Based on a July 2020 analysis of over 5 million buyers, comparing the purchasing behavior of those who were shown listing videos to those who were not." 

So, the videos are still useful and desirable. So are videos for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.

I don't think you have to close down your shop.  Instead, just gradually update your listings.

@JaguArtWood You have beautiful pieces.  And I sent you a private message about some suggestions.

What you need to discover is: Who are your customers?  Is it individuals, interior decorators, corporate clients?  Where do they look for beautiful furniture: social media, magazines, word-of-mouth, etc?  And how do you get your products in front of them and solve their problems.  It's about building relationships and a great reputation.  With a product like yours, a good reputation and relationship can lead to a house full of your furniture.
