Re: Let's Help Each Other!

Bonjour à tous;

Re: Let's Help Each Other!

Hi! I was recently invited to this community so thanks so much for that! I've had my shop open for a few months now but have yet to make a sale unfortunately.

I would really appreciate any feedback/critiquing that anyone may suggest to get my first sale! Thank you

Re: Let's Help Each Other!

@ifodhb0h Your shop is beautiful.  I suggest you keep adding new items to your shop.  More items = more traffic = more sales.  Once you have 150 items, Etsy will boost traffic to your shop.  But, to get some holiday sales now, I suggest joining us at our online art festival at: https://www.facebook.com/events/6582482165128830

As for gloves/no gloves, I suggest trying an experiment.  For half of your gems, have your hand holding the gem.  For the other half of gems, wear a glove.  See which one has the most sales over a period of time.  I tend to run experiments from 3 months to 1 year.

Re: Let's Help Each Other!

Hi everyone! I'm just coming back after taking some time for maternity leave and am gearing up to start posting new products on my store soon. I've got coloring pages and planner/organizing things so am going the printable route. Eventually, I would love to do actual notepads, planners, notebooks, etc. Has anyone else ever gone this route? Where do you find you can get notepads, planners, and notebooks and other stationary type products wholesale in the same place? I've looked at certain dropshipping places and wholesale places but can't seem to find one that has it all in one place. Plus most dropshippers are mostly t-shirts, mugs, and things like that.

I'm also going to open up commissions for watercolors on my social media but am not sure if I should also try doing something similar on my store?

Anyways eager to get posting and updating soon, thanks in advance for the help!

@CatMastersonDesign WELCOME BACK CATHIE!  How are you and the little one doing?

I use Printful, but they don't have all the offerings you'd like (from what I can see).  But, they do seem to have several variations.  So...

Re: Let's Help Each Other!

@MikeKrausArt Doing well! Little one is thriving - I'm totally sleep deprived but the show must  go on, lol!

I've heard of Printful, I'll definitely give that a go. I'll also look into local printers I guess and see what how that route would go for me. Thanks!

@CatMastersonDesign So happy to hear you two are doing well.  And I hope you have a good support network that can help you get a bit more sleep.  That is intense.

Good luck with finding a printer/dropshipper.  I just switched myself.  But, my focus is on prints/posters, which is quite a bit different.  So, still trying to figure that all out myself.

Hello! Although my store has been open for a long time, I'm having trouble understanding why I haven't been able to make sales. Could you please review my store and provide me with suggestions on what might be going wrong and how I can improve? Thank you!https://ursdesign.etsy.com

Re: Let's Help Each Other!

Hello! I would love some suggestions on how I could improve my shop. I have had the shop for a few months now, with no sale. I think the photos are good but there is little to no traffic to the shop and I am not sure what to do. I am on the brink of closing it down, which sucks, because I really like my shop. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thank you in advance

Re: Let's Help Each Other!

@Rubynnastory

Your shop is set up beautifully and you should continue doing what you're doing. I do have a suggestion. Have a friend or family member make the first purchase. Perhaps give them a discount in exchange for a good review. Online selling is like a tip jar at a cafe or for a street performer. If the jar is empty; no one gives. But, if there's a few bills and coins in the jar already; people are more generous. Once that first sale is made, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will come more rapidly.

Once you get that sale, let me know. I'll have other suggestions

Re: Let's Help Each Other!

YAY @Rubynnastory  CONGRATS on taking your first big step toward success!!!!

The next step will take a long time and can seem intimidating.  You need to focus on making as many pieces as possible between now at the holiday season (October - December).  Historically, 75-80% of sales happens that time of year.  The more artwork = more traffic = more sales.

Ideally, you'd have 150 pieces (which is a lot, I know) because Etsy boost promotions of your shop at that point.

If I were you, my main focus would be creating new work and participating on social media activities when you need a break until October.

From October until late November, I suggest spending an equal amount of time promoting and making.

Late November until January 1st, the main focus should be marketing your shop.

You may need to adjust this advice based on actual circumstances you experience.  I hope it helps.  And you should celebrate your first sale!
