@smgietsy WELCOME TONY! "if my cup is always full and my mouth is always open than I won't learn anything" is a great quote. We're looking forward to helping each other find success
My Aunt use to tell me that all the time growing up in Philly!! And i never forgot that quote...
@WildfirecraftsStudio WELCOME TO THE ART TEAM! Here's some quick info about titles and descriptions
1) For titles, I suggest making a template. For example, this is what I use:
name of piece (medium) size by Mike Kraus - descriptive words
2) A template works well too for descriptions. This is what I use:
motto
title
medium
size
id #
1-2 paragraph description of who, what, when, where, why, and who cares
mini bio
links
HOPE THIS HELPS!
thank you i will keep this in mind.
Helpful, Mike. And your art is stunning.
Hi, my name is Jeanne and I live in Kennesaw, Georgia which is about 25 miles from Atlanta. I am excited to become a part of the team and get to know you. I was born and lived my first 13 years in Philadelphia PA. I have lived in upstate New York (Baldwinsville), Louisville KY and New Bern NC. I'm a retired elementary teacher. About a year after retirement, I realized I needed something to occupy my free time. I was familiar with sewing, but hadn't sewn in a number of years. I soon found myself at a fabric looking though pattern books and bought some handbag patterns. Long story short, I soon found myself with an abundant supply of handbags just hanging around. My kids told me to open an Etsy shop and so here I am. I feel as though I have really grown in my knowledge of sewing handbags, etc. mostly due to watching you tube. A couple of months I purchased an industrial sewing machine. I love being creative.
My challenge now is that my sales aren't many. I feel my prices are fair. I'm not good at marketing. I really can use some advice. Should I get a domain? Should I get a Facebook Business page? I can use help. Thank you!
Hi, Thanks for inviting me. My name is Tammy and I live in Marietta, Ga, which is a burb of Atlanta. I'm originally from NY and have been in PR for over 30 years. I've always dreamed of being an artist but didn't think I had the talent. Early in my career, I had a friend who was an assistant art director and she told me to just practice. So many years later I took an art class and fell back in love. Over the past few months I've been taking courses on Skillshare, sketching, painting, and started sharing my work on FB and Instagram. Several of my friends suggested that I open an ETSY shop. I did a lot of research and finally took the plunge almost a month ago. I have found it a little discouraging. I know everyone says that you need to be patient but....:)
I've made 8 sales BUT they are all to my family and friends. I realize I'm in a competitive marketplace. I will keep adding art each week and see what happens. Not sure how long it will take and how long I will hang in there but until that time. It's nice to meet everyone.
Me too don’t feel bad, it’s very hard to get ur name out there.
Hello to all the newbies, my name is Elena and I am All Love Soaps, I wanted to introduce myself and say hello and welcome. If u need anything I will try to help! Have a great week everyone!
@smgietsy Sounds like a very wise aunt
@PeachyPursenality WELCOME TO THE ART TEAM JEANNE! And congrats on your retirement. So happy you've found a way to stay active and creative.
The key to marketing is answering these questions:
2) Where can I find my customers? Are they on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, elsewhere?
3) How does my product help my customers?
Once you know the answers to these questions, you'll know what to do and where.
@tdemelartstudio WELCOME TO THE ART TEAM TAMMY! We're glad you're here. And no need to be discouraged. You've sold 8 more pieces than Van Gogh. So, you're off to a great start. The most important thing you could do right now is just to keep making and adding new paintings. More paintings = more traffic = more sales. Once you have 150 pieces, other things become more important. But, you'll want to have as many pieces as possible added by the holiday season (October - December). That time of year usually accounted for 70-80% of sales.
@AllloveUS You're so kind to help. THANK YOU!

Hello everyone! I'm Ivan. I'm a digital illustrator and the best way to describe me and my shop https://imaginarrium.etsy.com would be to say that I'm a "Jack of all trades, master of none". Instead of following what's popular or devoting time to a particular niche I went with the difficult route it would seem. Although my account is from 2020, I actually started thinking about running this shop seriously only 2 or so months ago. My SEO skills are almost non-existent so I'll have to work on that. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you for taking your time to read this. Hope you can find something in my shop just for you or someone you care about.

Hi! I’m Harriet Glasman and I’m a printmaker. I carve woodcuts. My shop is Spaceychic but I think I will change it to Harriet’s woodcuts. I am self taught. I am not an art student . Have never been to art school. Did a linocut in high school art class and liked it. Husband had lots of scrap wood from woodworking. I decided to give it a go.
