The great grey beast of January
Roars and snarls and howls with fury
He casts a chill upon the land
With icy winds that cut like a knife in hand
His fur is matted, dreary, and dull
He tramples through the snow, so full
Of rage and bitterness and cold
Leaving behind a trail of woe
But fear not, dear reader, take heart
For though the beast may tear us apart
We can weather the storm, we can endure
For springtime's warmth will soon mature
So bundle up, and brave the freeze
Embrace the challenge, do not flee
For the great grey beast of January
Will soon depart, and we'll be free
