Freebies for Artists

After watching a recent online lab I have been considering including small freebies instead of doing a sale. However, I sell my artwork and I have been having trouble coming up with a small freebie item. I do not have the money to get prints made and most of what I am selling on Etsy is already small artwork. Any ideas?

Re: Freebies for Artists

Maybe you could do bookmarks? I've included them in some of my recent sales. You could do a simple handdrawn or handpainted design. Something that wouldn't take very long, but would make your customer feel special for having gotten.

How about making limited edition art cards? ACEOs are very collectable, and you could sign and number them to make them more special.

I don't include any freebies with orders, but I did design a thank you note speciffically for my etsy customers. A handwritten thank you is always appreciated.

I usually include things like bookmarks, or reproduction art carts in my packages.

I think a good freebie would be a downloadable file such as a pdf. It could be a tutorial on how to paint, limited edition print, or you could create a calendar with your work.

I think that way you wouldn't spend money shipping items. I haven't yet had time to create my freebie item.
